Cores, the mysterious technology that powers the fighter mechs. Harnessed from deep underground, as the fossilized remains of the kaijus who once roamed the earth.

A silent mini comic. Art by our intern, Saskia @artofsaskie.

FanExpo 2026 is over, and I'm both happy and bummed out. The week is hard, but I love seeing all of my homies, the cool cosplays and of course being in an environment that allows me to unapologetically be myself for a brief period of time.

I've got a lot of awesome pickups from the con! I grabbed my annual Mythic Legions from @ecollectiblesca , some awesome stickers from the homie @hazelgeek , the godzilla of my dreams from @torontocollective , some new literature from the homie @king.k.rule and @canadacomicbin , and some new sketch card art from yet another of the homies, (who has tagging turned off 😂👍).

I saw a lot of amazing costumes, and had an incredible time seeing everybody and catching up in the brief moments of down time that I had. Looking forward to the next con already, but I'm definitely living entirely on the couch today!🤘🫠

A few early concepts depicting a group of devoted monsters, sporting a simple hooded clothing to shield their faces from any curious onlookers 👀

⭐️ PRE-SAVE “Mechs VS Monsters” on Kickstarter!

Do you notice any similarities between the monsters? Well, we thought it would be cool to base them off reptiles and amphibians!

Got any cool names for these guys?

We named the snake Skippy 🐍

Long before our story begins, a team of engineers tests early prototypes built to withstand the crushing pressure of a kaiju’s core. What could it be built for? 🧐

Our comic “Mechs VS Monsters” picks up years later, but the past and the history of this world will play a deeper role... so keep your eyes peeled for what’s to come next!

These “Carpas” are the main inhabitants of Aolia. Fish monsters in the desert!? What’s next, cows on the moon? 🐄🌕

Some have even wiggled their way into key roles in our first issue… which one’s your favorite?

Early concept art of the “Caravan” 🚂

The main set-piece of the entire series. This early draft was much more similar to a subway car combined with a bug-like movement. The feeling of it snaking through the desert perfectly captured the combining elements of both monster and mech, creating an exhilarating mode of transportation for our cast of characters!

Wait ‘till you see its final iteration… 😏
