Thank you, @smyrnaviningscitylifestyle magazine, for the AMAZING three-page spread on the organization my husband, @alphaknocks, and I started over 18 years ago in our two-bedroom apartment!

When the recession of 2008/2009 hit and arts funding was cut first, we were directly impacted. The kids were directly impacted. We wanted to do something instead of just complaining.

From three kids to over 300k students impacted throughout 18 years! We now have second-generation families in our programs, and I am just extremely grateful to God and to the entire Atlanta community for taking the time to honor us and recognize the hard work we’ve put into building this organization into a legacy of statewide impact!

We are featured in the September edition of the magazine. Check it out on their website!

When Art Opens Doors

What began with three students gathering in a two-bedroom apartment has grown into Artportunity Knocks, a nonprofit helping young people discover their potential through art, education, mentorship, leadership and community.

From music and photography to theater, STEM, entrepreneurship and more, Artportunity Knocks is proving that creativity can be more than a hobby—it can be a pathway to confidence, purpose and a future.

Read the full story in this month’s issue and discover how Chris and his wife Ty's one small act of opening a door grew into a movement creating opportunities for the next generation: https://citylifestyle.com/articles/when-art-opens-doors
