💐this post is my way of giving flowers to the younger version of me! maraming salamat, kiddo, for being so resilient.

💐i only publicize maybe 1% of my work, and instagram sees even less. but comics are special because i made them for me.
comics were the balm to my wounds, soothing my hurt in many ways that other mediums couldn’t.

💐for me, the ability to make comics is a tool of survival: over the years, through comics, i was able to process change while feeding my soul with little drawings that filled me with joy… all while allowing myself to immerse in the details that make up the world around me.

💐and while i’ve always tried my best to tell a good story, comics were untouched by the external pressure to take myself (too) seriously. i never felt the pressure to be a “good” comic artist and perform for an audience. i could just be honest, and that was enough.

💐i don’t think i’d ever be a full time comic artist, but i’m always excited to collaborate with people to tell a good story. and who knows what life will bring next?

💐so cheers to the next chapter. let’s make it a good one. ☀️

[ID in alt text.] Photo of me smiling with my iPad. I have long dark hair and golden glasses. Surrounding me are little characters I’ve made throughout the years, consisting of: a yellow ghost, two orange jellyfish, a mini version of of teenage me, a dragon, and a blobfish. The banner above me reads: “my untold journey as a COMIC ARTIST: LOOKING BACK INTO MEMORY LANE”
