My first art market overseas! A warm weekend in Singapore at Artsobi 🇸🇬 ft. things I drew & food I ate ✍️😋

Thank you @artsobi.sg for having me and thank you all for visiting and enjoying my art! Probably the biggest art event I have participated in so far, and it was amazing to see so many people showing up from SG and even Malaysia and Australia (?!! an incredible surprise) 😆

I’m back in Australia for events in Sydney and Melbourne now, but I will be back in Singapore one day (hopefully within a year or so) 🫶 please keep an eye out for future updates! 🥰

Not pictured: my busy week in Kuala Lumpur running around sourcing materials for my set up, countless hours cutting + painting that cardboard by hand (worth it) and getting my first pre-inked stamps made for you to use at my events 😆😆

Also shoutout to @nanshiistudios for organising the Aussies in SG stamp rally, and my supportive family who flew over from KL with me! 🥹🫶

See you all next time~
Stay silly! 🌻

Am I ok tho…?

September be the new year for stationery lovers, huh…

If it’s not books, they’re stationery materials in these ziplock bags 👩‍🦯

Wake up babes we're going weekend market shopping (again).

Weekend bazaars have basically become a regular feature in Singapore, driven by strong interest from Gen Zs here. For many of them, it's become a way to shop for what they actually want, as regular shopping malls aren't quite cutting it anymore.

Tag your friend who you're always going to these markets with.

Finaleh~🥳🎉

After all the long preparations, nervous moments, and endless overthinking… we did it!! 😭

There were definitely some unexpected little adventures before and after the event 😂 but somehow, everything worked out smoothly and became part of the memories I’ll never forget.

I barely had time to take videos during the event (so hectic😂) so here’s just a little recap of the moments I managed to capture.. especially day 2, when things finally got a little calmer.

@artsobi.sg were AMAZING!! 🍄🐸❤️
The crowd was incredible and seeing so much enthusiasm for Clayon as a first-time overseas exhibitor was truly beyond what I imagined. So happy to meet fellow seablings and make new friends along the way! 🤗

Definitely wanna do this again someday… maybe this is just the beginning of Clayon’s little overseas adventure? 👀✈️✨

Above all, thank God for this chance.. something I never thought would happen, a little dream that somehow became real ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you hubby for always supporting me and keeping me sane with your positive words 🥰
Thank you family and friends for all your prayers and support, they meant more than you know ❤️

Thank you to my booth sharing buddies for the little walks and mini adventures in between! 🫶🏻 Couldn't made this far without u gaes ❤️
@myun.co @little.pleasureee @lehaleha.club @little.space.studio

Until the next overseas booth… hopefully soon! 😍✈️🌏

Started last Sunday at @ohwundercafe by Wunderfolks at Bras Basah Complex, and obviously I had to try the viral Little Sheep Matcha. 🐑🍵

The matcha is rich and concentrated, while that thick, milky foam on top is SO dense and creamy. And the little sheep just makes the whole thing ridiculously cute.

The cafe itself? Cozy, playful and full of character. Definitely giving Sunday brunch in Singapore energy. A very cute spot if you’re doing a Bugis / Bras Basah cafe hop or looking for a chill weekend brunch spot.

Then we headed over to @artsobi.sg and oh boy… It was PACKED. The artworks were actually pretty great. Not 100% my personal taste, but I definitely saw a handful of pieces that made me stop and look twice.

And of course… I couldn’t leave empty-handed. I got myself a top by The Cat Inspired because apparently this is who I am now. Will show you guys that one next.

Overall verdict?
Oh Wunder: cute, delicious, would brunch again.
ArtSobi: packed, interesting, found some gems.
My Sunday: pretty aight..

august you were horrible to me. must be virgo season 🤷‍♀️

SWIPE SWIPE SWIPE to see what I got up to tho

#journalinspiration #bujogram #stickeraddict #traveljournal #moviejournal

with my boos, @redvelvet.smtown 💗💙💛💚💜

hot concert tip: go to the photobooth BEFORE the concert. trust me. you will be so hot and sweaty after

also, using the last of my @dailylouisbella red velvet themed floral stickers…

some seoul spreads. the journal is from @papierprost, and the tea place I just discovered is @magpie.and.tiger. highly recommended if you love tea!!

more seoul. I went to @mindthings_shop for the very first time (post incoming…) and took @twayair_singapore home. very affordable budget flights + I love the pokemon themed tickets! they are my go to airline if I can’t afford sq…

(NO PROMO LOL)

flew home for NDP @ national stadium. you probably saw this spread before, I have to brag about getting tickets to see the actual day 😎 (I actually didn’t get it, a friend did. sigh. maybe next year…)

met up with a friend and took her to joochiat! it was both of our first times; her being a tourist, me being a poor soul who lives too far away.

@heartware.store is definitely a shop I see myself going back to!! until the next exhibition, definitely.

since it was our first time in joochiat, I took her to the popular spots. they were okay. I’ll want to visit more cafes next time tho! where should I go?

august was the month of MOVIES (and my boy @tomholland2013) ((@zendaya that means BROTHER not husband, he’s all yours))

I personally liked the odyssey more, but it could be because I saw it how Christopher Nolan intended me to: in 4DX. shoutout to CGV in korea for the crazy ride!

and lastly, @artsobi.sg. I’m hugely skeptical about attending local events, because crowd control is a nightmare and having attended overseas fairs, I can’t help but feel a little overwhelmed back home. BUT! this fair was prettt well organized, one of the best this year. the crowd was obviously large, but it wasn’t so bad.

also managed to get some f1 fanart so I consider it a win. plus saw some old familiar faces! really a 10/10 event for me 🙂‍↕️

Artsobi 3.0: Tiny Forest 🍄 Sticker Gallery

Finally on the last of my spreads for @artsobi.sg! Had an ambitious plan to feature all the stickers I had collected like paintings 🖼️ in an art gallery but realised it’s too much work to make >15 frames 😆

I really like how the stickers feature different artists’ drawing styles with the artsobi characters! Unfortunately I didn’t manage to redeem artsobi’s own version in time ◠̈

Review of the art market no one asked for:

Even though I had only attended a few local art markets, I want to say that I am really impressed with how the artsobi team had organised everything. Perhaps it’s not something new, but it is my first time attending one where the full listing of artists is readily available with information of artists and various promotions displayed clearly. You could even bookmark booths and their locations for easier viewing and planning. It’s so organised; as a J person, I love it!

I like that they had built up a cute storyline and that there are interactive elements included. It was fun collecting the digital stamps (though it may be a bit more time consuming for the artists/vendors haha) and queueing to redeem their merchandise/taking photos. As a consumer, I feel like the team really put themselves in the shoes of one. After the event ended, I saw many artists who had participated giving good feedback so I see it as a good sign ◡̈

Would definitely visit the next artsobi art market if I have the chance 👍🏻

I kept the stuff…. everyone else threw away.

A name card.
A little piece of packaging.
A strip of washi tape…

They bring me right back to that day…
to what I saw, what I liked,
what caught my attention,
and how it felt to be there
at @artsobi.sg for the first time!

That’s probably what I love most about junk journaling
and simple stress-free doodling in my sketchbook.

It gives the ordinary little things somewhere to live.
When maybe years ago I would have
just thrown such precious memories away…

These little fragments are now turned into something…
I can come back to years from now.
A visual record of where I went,
what inspired me,
and the tiniest details I might otherwise forget.

I think there’s something special about making room
for the things that don’t seem to have much practical value…
but hold so much sentimental value.

I know I’ll always be collecting memories…
intentionally choosing…
and keeping the ones I’d be glad I remembered. ♡ mintymentaiko junk journal spread

Artsobi 3.0: Tiny Forest 🍄 Spread/Haul Part 2

Came back on the second day w the main aim of redeeming our digital stamps for the photo-booth and artsobi merchandise. Side quests include strategising our route based on the locations of booths we were keen to visit, getting some items that were still on our minds and collecting more artsobi x artist freebie stickers within 2 hours 🙈

*BAM BAM BAM* Second round of damage was done 😅😆
