I used to think surviving the storm was the victory. Now I know the real victory is becoming the rainbow for someone…

In a strange way, I’m grateful, somewhere throughout those hardships and traumas, I developed a relentless ambition, an intrinsic hustle, enormous empathy, and mastered the art of perseverance.

There is always another chapter.

There is always an opportunity to rebuild.

And eventually?
Yet again. There is a rainbow. 🌈✨

Today, sitting between these two incredible women on their incredible new endeavor, @artsofbs and telling my story, I realized something else: for perhaps the first time, I felt genuinely proud of myself for having the courage, vulnerability, and strength to share my entire story.

Not embarrassed by it.
Not ashamed of it.
Not trying to minimize it.

I have a platform, I want to use it. If I have privilege, access, a voice, or a seat at the table, I want to use those things to make space for others. A voice for the voiceless.

Because I know exactly what it feels like when somebody believes in you before you have learned how to believe in yourself.

And if sharing the my story makes even one person feel less alone, more hopeful, more capable, or more seen, then none of those chapters were wasted.

As Maya Angelou taught us: “when you know better, you do better.”

So I’m going to keep doing better.

Keep showing up.
Keep telling the truth.
Keep choosing gratitude.
Keep making room.
Keep turning pain into purpose.

Your hardship can be part of your story without becoming your identity.

The storm happened, but it is not the headline.

Thank you, @nordea.lewistv & @emallocco , for creating a space where honesty wasn’t something to be ashamed of, but something to be proud of.

Today, I was present in authenticity. I feel deeply honored to have shared that experience with the two of you. Today, perhaps for the first time…. I know that I deserve greatness and I am worthy. And that feels pretty damn good.

THIS yellow brick road has led to my new, innovative and inspiring business… ➡️@mkthecreativeintention
