Some art just speaks to your soul. 🤎

One of my favorite artists, @jonflaming here at Round Top. I could stand here admiring his work for hours. Someday, I hope to have one of his pieces in my home, a little piece of art that feels like it has a soul of its own.

Some things are simply too good to keep to yourself.

Eight years of painting, writing, wondering, and discovering goodness in the most unexpected places have led to this Tuesday…a celebration of all the beauty, friendship, creativity, and ordinary moments that make life extraordinary.

I’d love for you to be part of it!

Come wander through art, enjoy music, delicious bites, a little watercolor, and the goodness of being together.

TOMORROW! Tuesday, October 13
5:30–7:30 PM
Artspace111 | Fort Worth

Come as you are. Bring a friend. Stay awhile.

And if you can’t join us, the book is available to order through the link in my bio.

Here’s to goodness worth noticing…and sharing.

October 25 - October 26 was epic.

This year has been filled with experiences, time together, time with friends, and seeing the world. As I sat watching the Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl, my WhatsApp started pinging with anniversary messages for @adventcavalier. One year ago Millie was a flower girl at his wedding in Oaxaca, MX… so I started to scroll back through the year. It has been a good one.

First international solo trip with the kids (Oaxaca)
Bead hunting and meetings with @indigohomesaccra in Ghana
Safari in Tanzania
Weekend in Oklahoma
Pre-party at the Rader’s
New years in Seaside
Rodeo Season in Fort Worth
Jewelry, boots, and paintings at ArtSpace111
24 hours in Terlingua
National Park loop for Spring Break
London Marathon
Paris sightseeing
Barcelona beaches and tapas
Hershey, PA…NYC…new toy
Rough Creek for mom’s birthday
Mexico while kids are at camp
Costa Rica getaway
Colorado to escape the heat
Vermont to peep leaves and eat muscles 💪🏻 🤮
Metallica at the sphere opening night.

Earlier this year @roddhornet said some version of “we’re almost 50, we should invest more in our friendships” and it’s true. Do more things with the people who make you happy. I write this from @tikiblanco , his fully themed tiki house in the woods… because if you want to create a tiki wonderland so that your friends have a fun destination to hang out… there are no adults to tell you no. Do the thing. Say yes. Take chances. Do stupid stuff. Dance. Wear weird clothes. Create moments that matter. Go places. Dream bigger. You only live twice.

Oh and hire @lauren_hulsey to plan all your travels. Shes the best at it.

Do you want more peace in your life? Are you unsure about how to take the first step on a dream of yours? Do you continue to be frustrated with someone in your life who is different from you?

On The Scales of Wellness this week, join me for a heartfelt discussion with Sherri Jones, author of Tuesday Goodness: Finding Light Through Art, Story & Practice (and successful weight loss client!) as we drop wisdom and ideas about all of the above and more.

We talk about everything from How do you feel alive? to How do you take the first step towards your dream without needing to have it all figured out? Why is there value in learning to feel your emotions?

So much of what you need to lose weight comes from what Sherri writes about in her gorgeous book - delighting in all of your emotions, letting go of trying so hard (seriously!), embracing differences, allowing yourself to be still, and of course, inviting in curiosity and trust.

Listening to this episode will help you with your weight loss goal and/or whatever dream you want to pursue in your beautiful life. Listen with an open heart!

🎧 Listen to The Scales of Wellness on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you catch your podcasts.

You are invited to come to Sherri’s book release party! Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at ARTSPACE 111, 111 Hampton Street, Fort Worth, 5:30-7:30pm.

Reminder! This Saturday, September 19, is Fall Gallery Night, and I’m excited to have four paintings on view at @artspace111 as part of the day’s festivities!

Fall Gallery Night is one of my favorite Fort Worth traditions, bringing people together to explore galleries, discover new work, and celebrate our incredible arts community. Be sure to check out everything happening throughout the city with FWADA, the Fort Worth Art Dealers Association, and make a night of it! @ftworthartdealers

The four works I’ll be showing at Artspace111 are from my ongoing Calm and Chaos series. This body of work has become increasingly focused on the act of looking closely, slowing down, and being present. I’m interested in the small details of the natural world that can easily be overlooked, and in how paying attention to them can become a kind of meditation amid the noise and movement of everyday life.

Swipe through the carousel for a closer look, including several of my tiny 5 x 5” paintings. I’ve really enjoyed working at this intimate scale and thinking about how a very small view of the landscape can still hold an entire experience.

Can’t wait to see everyone this Saturday, September 19, at @artspace111 !

I'm thrilled to share that juror Genie Davis awarded my painting best of show!
The Van Cliburn International Piano Competition gala provided an excellent opportunity to paint the energy in a room packed with people beautifully and elegantly dressed and ready to support the arts.
