These #tinysacred journals are coming in to be part of a group collaboration in a solo show I am having at @art.wrkd called “lost in the found: an exploration of art journaling”. The show opens Saturday August 24✨.

My ideas have been overflowing lately as I plan a show at @art.wrkd this coming August. Bouncing ideas back and forth with @ashara.shapiro ….the founder & a fellow artist, has been exhilarating. As creatives we are often so solitary. 🩷. We are creating an experience.

The show is called: Lost in the Found: an Exploration of Art Journaling. This exhibit will have my journals plus my work made bigger on canvases and surfaces.

A part of this show will be #tinysacred art journals created from my online workshop. I see them in a hanging installation. ✨These will come from all over our country…and other countries…a collective way of seeing. There are over 500 people in this course. ✨

If you are in these classes, please consider “making one for this show”. I know how hard it is to part with something we created as part of a process. These tiny journals are keepers of time and emotion. So if you cannot part with one you already did….create a new one🩷.

So many of you have already said a loud “yes” to this. All of us together will be a hanging installation. I know how beautiful we are side by side in our diverse creativity.

One workshop. An idea. An exchange of energies and so many interpretations.
I picked up a piece of wet cardboard in spring four years ago on a canal walk with my husband and daughter.

I saw such possibility in that wet and swollen piece of cardboard. And when I created a workshop around it, you all saw possibility too.

Here is more work from my #tinysacred art journal course.

I am putting together a show at @art.wrkd (what a magical space!) opening August, 24, 2024. My vision is to have my work beside the work that was done by you in this class. ✨✨✨✨✨

All of us will be on display side by side. One tiny idea interpreted in SO many ways.✨I will also have my own show of my journals, process and large pieces on display at the same time. ❤️

I will ask for one tiny sacred journal from each participant (if that feels right).

The criteria will be one of two things:

-You are in either or both tiny sacred workshops online OR you have taken a class with me in person over the past two years.

My plan is our show travels a bit and then lands as a forever exhibit in a book museum.

Hey loves. “Tiny Sacred part two…the travel journals” will open up for registration this week! To celebrate, I will be sharing lots of work from students from the first course, which is stunning & delightful. There were hundreds of you in this course….and the response was so heart opening. Each artist has been tagged with their work in these photos. Xxoo.

🔥My own Tiny Sacred journey became the deepest, sweetest creative rabbit hole I have ever jumped into.✨

It started about three years ago when covid started and I found a piece of wet cardboard on a canal walk. I peeled the pieces of it back and a whole world of possibility opened then and there….and it kept opening and re-opening. Thank goodness. ✨✨✨

For this workshop, we will continue to work small using what we have, both “inside us” and “around us”. We will create using an assortment of things we have within reach: old wallets, egg cartons, pasta boxes, eye glass cases, and ring boxes.

I cannot wait to share this newness with you. Stay tuned! ❤️

Here are a few pages from the glorious souls who took my course #aholdingspace ✨.

In this course, the focus was on using art journaling to find our words & way through grief & loss, and also reconnecting with our joy. And it was about community….and seeing each other. We did a live zoom weekly. We had our own private chat too. Many did the class privately on their own…I could feel their energy too. Thank you to everyone who took this workshop the first time I offered it. It was your input that helped me build and add in things I never expected to….lots of joy and truth. ☀️💛

As I get ready to launch my 3rd online workshop, I wanted to pause and say thank you from the bottom of my ❤️ to everyone who took, loved and shouted about my #tinysacredjournal class. ✨🙌❤️.
