Melody of the Night No. 5 by Jin Shi./How to Avoid Imposter Syndrome Tips:

Dear Friends,
Please support my channel and me by:
-Liking

As always, your support helps me keep composing and playing. 🌹❤️

I wanted to share this beautiful piece that I feel fits some of my feelings of sadness recently. Besides dealing with my son's continued illness, I have lost some of my confidence posting my performances, and succumbed to "imposter syndrome." I sometimes feel like I don't belong on here as a musician/composer.

Tips for Avoiding Imposter Syndrome & for Having Continued Confidence in Yourself. (From Gill Corkindale)

• Recognize imposter feeings when they emerge. Awareness is the first step to change, so ensure you track these thoughts: what they are and when they emerge.

• Rewrite your mental programmes. Instead of telling yourself they are going to find you out or that you don’t deserve success, remind yourself that it’s normal not to know everything and that you will find out more as you progress.

• Talk about your feelings. There may be others who feel like imposters too – it’s better to have an open dialogue rather than harbour negative thoughts alone

• Consider the context. Most people will experience moments or occasions where they don’t feel 100% confident. There may be times when you feel out of your depth and self-doubt can be a normal reaction.

• Reframe failure as a learning opportunity. Find out the lessons and use them constructively in future. This is a critical lesson for everyone.

• Be kind to yourself. Remember that you are entitled to make small mistakes occasionally and forgive yourself. Don’t forget to reward yourself for getting the big things right.

• Seek support. Everyone needs help: recognise that you can seek assistance and that you don’t have to do everything alone. This will give you a good reality check and help you talk things through.

• Visualise your success. Keep your eye on the outcome

-Love Nevermore with Art by Jade P.-
Have you ever been trapped by love? This story of broken and dark love (My original multi-instrumental with vocals song +lyrics/score) is for you.

Please watch to the end to see how the tale ends. I have not yet found a vocalist to sing it but that is coming soon.

Sometimes we cannot have what seems like a perfect love. We try and try because it is so close to heaven, but in the end it breaks us...
-Have you been broken by lost love or did it make you stronger?

Dear Friends,
I'm so excited to share this video with you which is a collaboration of my wonderful friend Jade's @CoolJade2023 amazing art and my original song Love Nevermore.

I have talked with Jade for many months about collaborating and am so excited that we were able to do a project together. I love her art and am a huge lover of art coming from a family of artists. I love the gorgeous colors in her art and the wonderful expressions of her women; they are delicate, finely drawn, subtle, yet full of emotion and passion.

I hope you love this as much as me. Please show your support for Jade and I by:

This is such a special video for me...

-Includes Lyrics from the first and third verse and chorus.
-Partial score (I am finishing up all the instruments and looking for a vocalist to sing the vocal part. It is multi-instrumental so the final version has strings, choral, and multiple keyboard parts as well as rock guitar). Score (midi) is slightly out of sync with the music as this is a live audio Halloween performance from 2022.
-Guitar solo and playing is by the wonderful Scott Janssen

-USING THE NEW YAMAHA MONTAGE M8X
I am using my new Yamaha Montage M8x with polyphonic aftertouch and 3 different engines. Very complicated but perfect for writing multi-instrumental pieces.
-One can change the turn the knob and widen/change the sound
-There are a seemingly unlimited number of sounds to play with including an analog engine
-I'll do a video soon on some of my favorite sounds on here. I got this primarily to do multi-instrumental, and ultimately, orchestral music. I am really liking all the amazing sounds so far.
Please let me know if this is interesting to you...I'll be doing a video tomorrow closer to the usual neoclassical and New Age type music.

Song from a Secret Garden composed by Rolf Lovland.
My son is still in a lot of pain from pancreatitis (the doctors have advocated a wait and see approach). He has now been in pain for a month.

In honor of his birthday yesterday and my hopes for his pain to be better soon, I am posting this.

Praying for a speedy recovery and no more pain for him. I released a story showing him with one of his award-winning art pieces (the text didn't go through). He recently also had another piece relating to Japanese mythology accepted at a local art museum.

Happy Birthday Matthew Hikaru, may your journey be soon filled with good health, joy, and happiness. Hayaku yoku natte kudasai, Tanjoubi, omedeto gozaimasu....🌹🙏💥

Please support me with likes, comments, and saves. Thanks so much my wonderful friends for being there....🌹

Dear Friends,
As we celebrate Valentine's Day, I am beginning a series of anti-love songs called "Love Songs for the Lonely."
It is okay to be alone and not have a partner but days like today make it seem like something is wrong with us if we are alone or even worse, lonely.

Celebrate yourself and your love of life and self-strength if you are alone/single. Don't be lonely:
Be kind to yourself
Brighten someone else's day
Engage in hobbies you love or are good at
Celebrate yourself with a spa day, a concert, or something special

It is okay to be single and alone....Love comes in many forms. Family love and friendship is just as important and possibly more so than romantic love.

I will be posting more love songs for the lonely/those who are alone, soon.

I hope you enjoy this gorgeous music by renowned Italian film composer/pianist Nino Rota written for one of the greatest movie series ever made-The Godfather.

Einaudi's Una Mattina; hope you enjoy this beautiful and calming piece.
My son has been in the hospital with acute pancreatitis so I have been offline. I don't know when he'll be coming home but is a little better today.

I wanted to put up a piece I love to play which calms me and puts me heart at ease when I am stressed. I hope it does the same for you, though it's not my best playing. It just happened to be ready to post...
Please like, comment, save, share to support me if you have time.
Thanks so much for your support my friends; it means the world to me. 🌹🙏🎹

Thanks so much everyone for helping me believe in myself as a composer. It means so much 🌹

I have had a hard time recovering from a very bad cold/flu for almost 3 weeks now. It has been hard to keep picking myself up, work, cook meals, help my son, and try to play/compose/record. I realize that I rarely rest and so when I take a vacation, sometimes my body just breaks down.

I know it's so important to keep believing in yourself even when it's hard.

My message for today is: Don't ever stop believing in your potential, especially when times are hard.
