This trip home wasn’t planned the way I would’ve wanted, but it reminded me of something beautiful: love waits.

After years apart, I got hugs from the people who helped shape me. Ate good food, seen familiar faces, and received a whole lot of love. I even got to see ALL my God Babies! 🥲

The day we arrived in Baltimore, God greeted us with a rainbow. In Scripture, the rainbow is a reminder of God’s covenant, His faithfulness, and His promises that endure even after the storm. It felt like Heaven’s gentle reminder that even in grief, God is still present, still faithful, and still writing a story filled with hope.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was simply slowing down long enough to admire His handiwork. Every sunset, every tree lined road, every glimpse of nature reminded me that His creation continues to declare His glory which somehow, brought peace to a grieving heart.

I’m especially grateful for my sister (& Mango), whose hospitality made our stay feel less like visiting and more like coming home. Her love, generosity, and open arms reminded me that sisterhood isn’t just about sharing DNA, but also includes sharing burdens, creating refuge, and making space for one another.

Although I didn’t get to see everyone I hoped to, please know the desire was there and the effort was made. Time simply has a way of moving too fast when your heart is trying to be in so many places at once. To those I missed, know that you were thought of, loved, and never forgotten. Lord willing, we’ll make up for lost time much sooner than later.

I still don’t think I’ll ever leave my sweet Southern life, but Baltimore will always be the place that shaped me. Thank you to every family member, every friend, every cousin, every hug, every meal, every laugh, every prayer, and every memory.

Melanie & Vanessa, we love you deeply. Thank you for sharing Big “LISA’S IN THE HOUSE” with us. Thank you both for allowing her love to pump through y’all hearts and overflow in the lives of me & my Littles. We came home to mourn… but God, in His kindness, allowed us to leave with hearts that had been loved back to life. Praying that His love comfort The Rob
