Just over a year ago, I found this other chronic illness blogger via Instagram (with way more followers and way cooler and way someone I wanted to meet). Then I thought- wait- I think I know her. And I did. But that’s a longer story and it’s going to be hard enough as is to keep this short.

So I messaged @celeryandthecity and we met up for coffee. Well, I had coffee, and she had a green tea.

I have a true friend radar. It alerts right away when I meet someone. I know if they’re going to be a part of my life now or in the future and the radar was alarming me at max levels that this one was special. And she was. And she is. And TODAY IS HER BIRTHDAY!

Not only that, but EVERY person I know who also knows her can tell you something she has helped them with: a vitamin, face wash, relationship.... she’s always using what she has learned to help us all and I’m so thankful she is someone I consider a dear friend.

Man, how much fun was #SocialROCKConf 2019? Met and got to spend time with my favorite author @jeffgoins and personal branding whiz @mikekimtv; reconnected with the wonderful and brilliant @shannonlaine7 after #GiveSTLDay; got to screen @50states100days The Film with @producerwoods in front of our largest crowd yet (State 4/50!), and sign some books for the viewers; met @emermaidm and the team at @rockfordartdeli (yes, this is the first time a curse has appeared on my Instagram ... sorry, kids); made friends and some wacky Halloween-themed attic memories with @riverandquill @chantel.hamilton @aryndaley and @celeryandthecity; met (not pictured) Rockford celeb @shannonkelly94; AND got to support one of the best humans on earth, @laurenevdavis (aka @ldaviscreative ), and her husband @skylercdavis at their event and their locally owned business, @cultureshock_. Even after missing my flight out of GSP (sorry again Mike and Jeff, I’m the worst), this trip was fun, insightful, thought-provoking and enriching for the soul in so many ways.
