Being a part of USA Cheer in any capacity is special and a privilege. But getting to help lead this group of athletes has been a memory I will always cherish. This was a special one ❤️💙

Eighteen PCL athletes across four franchises came home from Mexico with a shared title: Pan American champions.

They represented four professional franchises, but their week together required learning new partnerships and preparing one U.S. routine. Then pouring rain changed the opening-day warm-up plan, too.

@tuckerhunter described athletes who could laugh, adjust and get on with it. @jadamcfarlandd remembered how quickly the group became close—and why they cried after the final performance, even knowing they had made mistakes.

In conversations with athletes and coaches, I wanted to understand what went into this gold. Their answers reached well beyond a single professional season, into the years of experience they brought with them.

“Before the Gold, They Had to Become a Team” — read the story on Founding Season.
