Kaston Hofer
Williston Basin Career and Technical school
Williston, North Dakota

Kaston Hofer has wanted to learn to fly for as long as he can remember. Growing up on a farm and attending Bainville High School in Montana, Kaston has learned the value of hard work and taking advantage of every opportunity. His aviation journey took a major step forward when he had the opportunity to take aviation classes in Williston with Mr. Sando.

Kaston worked hard both in the classroom and in the airplane. In June 2025, that hard work paid off when he completed his first solo flight, accomplishing a goal he had dreamed about for years.

Kaston is also a leader in his school and community. As president of his FFA chapter in Bainville, he encourages his classmates to challenge themselves and pursue their own goals. He leads with a quiet confidence and sets an example through his work ethic and determination.

Kaston plans to continue flying and pursuing opportunities in aviation. While he loves flying, he also has the skills and curiosity that could lead to a future in engineering.

His advice to other students interested in aviation is reflected in the way he approaches his own goals: work hard, take advantage of opportunities, and don't be afraid to challenge yourself. Kaston’s first solo was an important milestone, but it is only the beginning of his aviation journey.

Brandon Williams
Tango Thirty One Aero Clube
McKinney, TX

I’m Brandon Williams, an 18 year old recent Heritage High School graduate, former band and guard kid, fashion enthusiast, and a guy that’s been enamored by aviation since the first time I flew to see my grandparents.

From simple things like runway names, to more complex subjects like aerodynamics or even weather theory, I’ve loved figuring out what makes the best form of transportation in the world “tick” since I was a little kid.

In my free time, I would watch YouTube videos about aviation, and play flight sims for fun as well. Out of the many activities I’ve tried, I never felt more “at home” than when it came to aviation–especially so when it came to my first discovery flight.

Now being part of the Tango Thirty One Aero Club, I have an extraordinary opportunity to pursue my passion in aviation.

I’ll learn how to be a pilot, experience the freedom of flying not just as a passenger, but as the guy in the captain's seat, and I’ll be able to see just how far I can take that passion into a career doing what I love.
