Last weekend @noahs_cycling was invited to ride as a guest rider for the @asapcycling pro team at the @durbie_dash Road Race.

A lot was learnt in such a short period of time. His role was that of a domestique, protecting his team mates position in the bunch, covering attacks and offering assistance wherever he could. A big milestone for Noah and the DSV SHIFT Acadmey.

Well done Noah 🔥

Durbie Dash 26 : rain from start to finish but still a lekker day out for the team.
We started controlling making sure it stays together, if other teams wanted to make it hard it was even better. Then turning onto the R44 @wilcostr and I paced just enough that attacks stop without burning ourselves for the critical 2nd part of the race. At the Wellington turnoff the whole team came to the front and started heating things up to try split it but shortly after @the__lange punctured and about at the same time attacks started flying. @hofmeyrwynand and I tried to cool things down and policing things but ended up landing ourselves in a breakaway that was luckily too big and with half the riders understanding that we were not going to pull it was doomed to eventually being caught. Then our younger riders executed part 2 of the plan which was sending fliers. @cobus.marais’s move stuck and he took the win after 30+k solo 💪. At this point it seemed all the work from part 1 paid dividends because all the teams had lost numbers except @asapcycling with still 5 of us, and the riders that were left seemed tired so there wasn’t really a chase. All we had to do was then to control and cover till the last ramp to make sure @the__lange takes 2nd and maybe a few more of us sneak into the top 10.

In the end we got 4 in the top 10 with @willem_visagie2005 and @hofmeyrwynand in the leadout and I managed to cruise at the back of the front group in 14th, which I am super happy with as it’s been a while since I managed to finish a race with our fantastic 4, let alone doing it after doing the job 🫡.

Thanks @schultzyinthehouse and @chrispinfourie for the opportunity to ride alongside these beasts, couldn’t think of a finer 5 riders to share the work with out there 🙏

Wet conditions at the Derby Dash this past weekend 🌧️

Our riders lined up in tough conditions and raced hard from start to finish. Despite the conditions we had 2 very impressive podiums:

Akhuya, 🥈 in her Cat
Zac Solomon, 🥉 in U17 Men

Days like this are where the work shows. Proud of every rider who started, and supporters who stood in the rain for them.

On to the next one 💙

Rider of the Month: Zac Solomon

Zac has been putting in the work all month, showing up and pushing himself every ride. That commitment paid off at the Tour de Worcester, where he took 2nd place in the U17 category over 107km.

That's a long, hard day in the saddle, and Zac rode it like a man on a mission. Proud of you, Zac.

Keep chasing it.

Filthy Fondo Paarl Rock 1st 🥇

After 2 second-place finishes and a third place this season, it feels great to get my first win on the gravel. Massive thanks to my @asapcycling teammates for backing me 100%. This victory wouldn’t have been possible without them.
