…I could really use some help from the M3 owners that are tracking/racing their cars. I managed to blister the RF at Thunderhill’s East layout. The alignment has more than enough camber (3.7+), but the tires tell a different story. I would have expected to cord the inside of the tires well before the outside. The car is on 275/30-18 square (10” width). The front end has plenty of grip. I do get some understeer in slow corners, but on the big, fast sweepers, the car is on the ‘nose’. I’m running Ohlins “dedicated track” coilovers, with a Dinan front bar in the “second” hole.
The caster is sitting at over 8 degrees, which is out of spec for this car (not my choice). It has been suggested that the window should be between 6-7. FWIW, all of the bushings have been replaced with spherical’s. All of the control arms (F/R) have been replaced w/ SPL.
Is there anyone out there that has a shop that knows these cars, and can dial in a legitimate track alignment? Im in Rocklin, but can bring it anywhere in NorCal.
