Beginning of the year I decided to hop off social media. And I loved the time. But a lot has happened in just 6 months and felt the desire to share and update on life.
June we decided to put Sommer down before she started to really struggle. At 14 years old she was declining. 9 years ago she was the mark of my move to Houston and not having her is crushing. She was with me through a lot of change, challenges, and celebrations. She was a dog that if you didn’t like dogs you would after encountering her. She was the perfect dog and a bit of me broke that day.
That was the peak of our grief as we had another miscarriage back in March. This time 14 weeks. And this time no answers or understanding. Even the doctors are at a loss. This was baby #5 that we lost in span of 1.5 years.
It has been a year of heaviness. And honestly it’s been made possible and bearable through the pure grace of God and incredible community He has placed in our life. Our people truly embody “mourn with those who mourn” because they have been right by us the whole way. From house calls, to hospital visits, to food deliveries. Always there. And the out pour of love brings me to tears now.
Last week I realized I haven’t honored the past two babies and I wanted to honor Sommer for the years of her quiet, steady companionship. And there was our people. Digging in the rain, no complaints, bringing a vision to life, and giving our babies in heaven and dog a resting place. 🥲 thank you. With all my heart I’m so grateful for God’s comfort and love made manifest through these people.

In May I celebrated 32 years of LIFE and in June, 3 years of marriage! Grateful for the Lord keeping us and giving me an AMAZING husband.

When we talk about the gospel of Jesus it’s not just a get out of jail free card but it’s a calling to a whole new way of life that brings hope beyond your circumstances and imperfect people who commit to trying to love you the way Christ does. And I’m the least deserving yet have abundant love and mercy poured out each day. Our lives aren’t perfect but I get to walk with a perfect God who comforts and strengthens me.
Forever grateful and continually praising even in the valley.

A little 2025 time capsule of a few of the cakes I'm really proud of and surprised myself. From learning new techniques (hello fondant) to new cake flavors/combinations and even making my first wedding cake, I'm beyond grateful for all the people who have entrusted me to bake for them. Looking forward to what 2026 brings!

Funny how God always changes me when I go to serve others. God is continuing to grow me as a servant, grow my compassion for His people, and my heart for the nations. My God, El Roi, sees me, sees the village of the Akonoma, and the nation of Ghana.

#31 more than ever the past year of my life was strongly impacted by having strong, loving, caring, and God fearing women in my corner. I’m grateful for everyone pictured and those aren’t. God has blessed me with an amazing husband and amazing friends and I’m not the same because of it.

Praying this next year I can learn more from each of them and how to show up more and love more like Jesus. Love y’all ♥️
