🏁 Funny how one event can completely change your career path.

Back in my early days at Audi Salt Lake City, I was always interested in the marketing side of the business. I had the opportunity to support events sponsored by Audi USA, work on the Audi SLC, Porsche SLC, and Porsche Design social media presence, help with the Quattro Cup golf tournaments and other customer experiences, and experiential marketing.
But there was always one side of Audi that fascinated me the most:

Racing 🏎️💨🏁

Then came the idea for an Audi S Model launch event.
I thought: What if we connected Audi’s retail side with its racing side?
The timing worked perfectly. A Pirelli World Challenge race was coming to Utah. With the support of Audi Sport Customer Racing,
I reached out to the Audi teams coming into town and invited them to bring their race cars to our event.

And suddenly, we had Audi R8 LMS GT3 race cars sitting inside the Audi SLC showroom. DXDT Racing brought their drivers, crew members, their racing simulator, and the full racing atmosphere with them.

We also turned the event into a bigger experience by inviting local businesses and partners from our CRM network to participate. Custom suits, Topgolf, and more.

More than 800 people came through the dealership that day, and honestly, the real number was probably even higher.
The event became such a success that it even caught the attention of Audi Sport in Germany.
It proved that connecting Audi’s racing culture with the retail experience was something special.

And without realizing it at the time, that event changed everything for me.
The connection with DXDT Racing grew. I started attending team training days, helping build the relationship between Audi SLC and the team through marketing and partnerships.
Eventually, I became DXDT Racing’s Marketing Director.
Looking back, it’s pretty incredible to think that my motorsports career started with one idea:
Bring race cars to an event.

Sometimes you have no idea you’re creating the opportunity that will eventually change your entire career. 🏁🙌🏻

Every line on the Type 859 has a technical reason for being there.

We chose Audi’s Navarra Blue for these renders because of how it interacts with the light.

In car design, dark metallic tones are the ultimate test of surfacing. This deep blue highlights exactly what we are building: the massive box flares, the sharp Group B silhouette, and the aggressive widening of the track.

This is our vision for a modern classic, but the focus remains on the functional details:
- *Aerodynamics* : The active aero is designed for real-world downforce.
- *Rigidity* : The integrated roll cage is there to support the 500+ HP DAZA engine.
- *Heritage* : Gold turbofan wheels pay homage to the golden era of rallying.

We are currently in the middle of partner discussions to ensure every one of these details is feasible for a street-legal car. Our goal is to stay true to the passion that started this project.
