High-level dog training keeps you humble. This Dutch Shepherd has hit the left-arm target hundreds of times. This rep, my chest—right under my chin—got promoted. Then Indigo was fired up, I was listening to the coach instead of reading my own dog, and she nearly redirected onto me. The dogs are giving plenty of feedback; I’m still learning to catch all of it.

The risks are real. So is the adrenaline. I love it though, I’m learning every time I’m around those who know more & have more experience than me, and I’ll keep coming back until my body and mind tell me it’s time to chill out or… if I don’t get my god damn footwork down after catching these 4 legged professional athletes… one or the other 😂🤷‍♂️. I’m just getting started though, take it easy on me 🙏!!

S/O to all the Jersey K9 people, always worth the trip!

A lot of work has been put into this dog, and we’re still just getting started. 🐺

Now we’re stepping into the sport protection side of the dog world and seeing what Nova is really made of. Everything we’ve built up to this point was just the foundation.

Putting the pieces together. 🩸

Nova getting reps in protection as we work toward her first entry-level protection title — PSA PDC or Iron Dog.

Every session is another opportunity to sharpen the picture: more confidence, stronger commitment, clearer decisions, and better control.

We’re not chasing a title just to put letters behind her name. The goal is to walk onto that field knowing the work was done and the dog is ready.

Train it. Clean it up. Put it under pressure. Prove it.

The journey continues. 🐺🔥
