There is a 1 in 8 chance that a woman in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Most of us have been touched by this disease because of just how common it is for women to develop this awful form of cancer.

Today I had the honor of joining my colleagues in observation of #PinkDayAtTheCapitol to extend our support to our very own member of the Assembly fighting this battle, @asmloridwilson.

I am proud to stand up for Lori in recognition of her resilience and strength, I am proud to know women that are living testaments that this disease is survivable, and I am here to remind you to get an annual screening to check for abnormalities.

Today, Legislators and their staff joined together in recognizing Pink Day at the Capitol in support of my friend and colleague, Assemblywoman Lori D. Wilson and all who have been touched by breast cancer. Lori, our prayers are with you throughout this fight.

If we want to make change, we have to start asking the right questions and start getting angry at the right things. We have to ask the questions that can help stop animals from walking through the shelter doors. We have to be angry at what’s causing animals to end up in shelters.

If we start to see a major mindset shift in how we all approach this massive pet overpopulation problem, we might be able to make changes that solve it.

Do better Laguna Hills Marriott. Hire Black workers. Negotiate a fair contract. Show us with your actions, not your words.

I spent my 4th of July in our beautiful #AD28. I am so grateful to the many volunteers who helped make our nation’s 247th birthday a memorable celebration throughout the district.

From Santa Cruz to Morgan Hill, our resilience has been tried by the pandemic, severe storms, and tough financial times.

I love the opportunity to celebrate not only this great nation’s birthday, but particularly the people that make it great. I’m honored to be a part of a community that comes together to support one another through good times and bad.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Fourth of July! Harper, Khai, and I had the very special opportunity to walk in the Rose, White, and Blue Parade with our friends. We got to celebrate with our neighbors and cheer for those passing on the floats! The parade dates back to 1896 and has become an enduring theme for San Jose. Many thanks to the volunteer organizers of the @rwbparade for making sure the celebration happens every year!

Wishing everyone a safe and festive Independence Day celebration!

🔥 Caste: The Dark Legacy 🔥

On this #4thofJuly, let’s reflect on the connection between history and the present. Caste, a colonizer’s tool to divide and rule, still haunts us.

Today, as America battles #SB403 in California, disregarding the vox populi, Indian Americans face the trauma of their own ‘N word’: Caste.

It’s time to say #NOtoSB403 and fight against the recolonization of America! 🚫🇺🇸✊
