Introducing:

@ashaallk

‘I am consistently trying to reconnect and reestablish my relationship with the natural world and my place in it. I have been re-finding my footing and artistic voice while focusing on the ocean and sea-scapes. Memory was a big theme during this process and I relied on it to create these nostalgic portrait-esque images. Being an artist that considers material and medium as much a part of an image as the subject, I shot on expired 1997 Kodak slide film. The sentimentality is evident in the medium and the motifs shown. This is an homage to my
childhood and has reignited the interconnection I feel to the land and tides around us.’

Look for more of Asha’s work in our magazine this September!
