Happy International Women’s Day to all women out there, but I’d like to especially highlight my wonderful team at @soulfire_tattoostudio

Soul Fire is women owned, (🙋🏻‍♀️) and happens to be home to entirely women artists. Not because that was the goal when I started building Soul Fire, the goal was simply to create the best possible experience for our clients. The best artists, the best atmosphere.

It just so happened that the people who embodied that vision were all incredible women.

And I’m pretty damn grateful for that.

@taylorhelmantattoo keeps the shop lively and entertaining at all times. She cares fiercely for the people around her and tattoos with her whole heart. She is constantly pushing herself and is insanely talented at pet portraits and freehand work. When she is not tattooing she is probably off on some wild mountain adventure.

@shannonricetattoo is our resident reader and in house nerd in the best way. She loves loving things and gets just as excited about other people’s interests as her own. Shannon has a wide skill range and is always working to improve and evolve for her clients.

@asharanitattoos is an absolute workhorse who I am convinced has more hours in the day than the rest of us. A former software developer turned tattooer who loves Taylor Swift, animals, and all things art. She is constantly pushing her work and currently crushing the colour realism game.

@hailstorm.ink is the sweetest, funniest human and newly engaged. She strives for the cleanest tattoos possible and executes them beautifully every time. Easily bribed with Nerd Clusters and a good nature hike.

And together is where we’re strongest. As corny as it sounds, we really do lift each other up here.

I feel incredibly lucky to work alongside these bad ass women every day, and I can’t wait to see where Soul Fire grows from here.

Happy International Women’s Day. 🖤🔥

🐦 BIRD DAY FUNDRAISER 🐦

We’re excited to announce a special bird-themed flash tattoo event in support of Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Centre.

Born from a shared love of birds, this event brings together local tattoo artists, community members, and wildlife advocates for one incredible day of tattoos, fundraising, and education.

Join us on August 15 at Soul Fire Tattoo Studio for:

• Bird-themed flash tattoos
• Walk-in opportunities
• Raffle prizes
• Local goodies
• The chance to meet the Salthaven team and learn more about the work they do in our community

Salthaven is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured, orphaned, and compromised wildlife, while also helping educate the public about the challenges facing Canadian wildlife.

While Salthaven cares for many species, our fundraiser will focus on supporting the birds in our community. 🦆🐣🦢

Please join us in saying goodbye to our pal, Asha!

We have had the wonderful opportunity these last few years to watch Asha grow from an apprentice to a seasoned tattooer.

When I met Asha in 2022 I wasn't sure if we had the space for an apprentice. I met with her anyway, and honestly couldn't fathom not having her with us in the shop, and was determined to have her be a part of the team.
I'm so thrilled she was still availabile to start her apprenticeship with us. It's been awesome watching her excel the last 2 years.

Asha has not only been a talented artist but also a cherished friend and an integral part of our team. Her creativity and dedication have inspired us, and her unique style has left an indelible mark on our studio.

It is always bittersweet when folks leave the team. But if we can provide some good memories and a solid chapter in someone's book, we're doin' alright.

We hope you always find the same warmth and support that you’ve given us, Asha!

Let's all wish her the best in her next adventure.❤️
