⚠️HALAL⚠️ smash burgers in London? Are they worth the hype?! 🍔
I’d say if they weren’t overhyped, you’d be eating a banging burger but because they’re so spoken about you’re expecting more!!

🍔- great truffle + fried onion mix with the smashburger makes it yum! Perfectly soft meat with flavour >>

🍟- take the fries out of the bag man, they were not it. Tasted a bit too burnt for my liking but did think they could be better

🍪- again a lovely ratio of dough to choc chip making it soft and yum but there was a strange hint of salt that somehow wasn’t the best

Overall would recommend just for the smashburger but please go when the queue is not a big wait!! Might be a good dinner in London 🤪

@alicis is a banging restaurant in North London that I’ve been wanting to try for agess! The place definitely did not disappoint, from their stunning interior to high quality service and delicious food, it’s the perfect spot!
The Turkish breakfast was £36 so came up to £18pp which was decent considering the amount of food on the table. I really enjoyed the eggs, mushrooms and cheese. The fruit was also fresh and the different breads (some with fillings) made this an enjoyable breakfast.
The mocktails were unique (£10 each), with a mix of flavours to create a sweet and sour effect. The passion fruit in the rubix cube really stood out!
Additionally, as soon as we were sat and we ordered, the whole breakfast arrived on different trays max 10mins later. If you’re looking for a unique dining concept, whether it is breakfast or dinner, I’d really recommend here! I know I’ll be visiting again for dinner next time 🤤
These places you can always order more and pack the rest to have a good meal the next day too 🤫
Let me know if you try! :)

@mukbangpocha has a range of Halal delicious Korean dishes. From their fried chicken to their noodle selection, there’s too much to choose from 😍 (only chicken here is halal)

We went with their 6pcs original fried chicken. This was crispy but needed sauce so would go with their sweet chilli or garlic flavours next time. Their veg mandu (the semi-circle shaped things) were so good!! Really loved the flavours infused in this and they were so easy to eat with chopstix. They were filled with veg and spices so are a great side or starter. Finally, we got their chicken japchae which was a bowl of stir fried glass noodles mixed wirh chicken and veg. Would pick a different noodle type that’s thicker for this dish but the chicken + veg were flavourful making it a excellent dish!!!

Service was great, served quickly and everything arrived in decent time - the servers kept asking if we wanted anything else, got a great range of sauces too. Overall, would recommend but would suggest getting a flavoured fried chicken rather than their classic :)

Price: Fried chicken: £12.99 Veg Mandu: £11.50 Chicken Japchae: £12

Looking for the best Halal dessert spot in London? Look no further than @hautedolci
You already know I’ve been 1000 times but try something else every time I go 🤤

Went with the Ultimate Cub Sandwich which consists of grilled chicken, avocado, chutney and cheese. This was better than expected but would’ve preferred on brown bread. Avocado tasted banging with the chicken!!
We also got the ‘an offer she can’t refuse’ which is the classic belgian choc and strawberries on waffles 😍😍. The gelato on the side really made this a dessert to remember, waffles were fresh and warm too. I’ve tried their white choc one before too but prefer this one.
Lastly, I went with their newer mocktail, the ‘rosy rosé’. I’m a big piña colada fan so when I saw this drink had pineapple + coconut cream, I knew I had to try!! Also mixed in this was raspberries + lime juice and topped with dried raspberries. Genuinely think I have a new fave mocktail as the flavours in it were impeccable 🫣

Service was great, served quickly and everything arrived in decent time - overall you already know I recommend this place every single time! You will see me again soon 👀
Price: Sandwich £9.80 Waffles £10.90 Mocktail £6.40

If Haute Dolci has no fans, I do not exist 🙅🏻‍♀️
Think I’ve been to three different Haute Dolci’s and let me tell you, they never disappoint me!! Still gotta try their whole menu, one day we will get there inshaAllah ✨🤩
I got their tropical paradise sundae and @hikmaspqrx got the sticky toffee pudding 🤩
Don’t usually get an ice cream from dessert places but was still so full from the food we had a few hours ago I went with something lighter. Banged because of the fruit 🤤
I tried some of the sticky toffee pudding and it was amazing!! Acc think their classic dessert section hits the spot fr - apple crumble is on my list 🫣

A quick what I eat for breakfast on a weekend. I’m way too busy to enjoy breakfast on a weekday so I make the most of the weekend to have a slow breakfast. Can’t really lie in as I just naturally wake up quite early so utilise the time for some self-care 💅🏼

What do you have for breakfast? 🍳

📍 Aubaine, Brompton Road

This brunch spot is pretty popular as we went early morning and it was already packed! As there were only two of us we managed to get seats without booking.

Food was delicious and service was great.
One thing I will mention was we were the only two muslims in there, everyone else was one ethnicity so we got a lot of random stares but nothing to do with the workers who were all lovely :)

What we ordered:
🔴 French toast brioche £17.50
🔴 Eggs florentine £15.50
🔴 Pancakes £14.50
🔴 Hot chocolate £4

I really liked their interior, had a clean aesthetic with minimal decor. Food was also served really nicely, thought they had a great range of savoury and sweet options which was great 😊

Food was excellent quality and I especially enjoyed the eggs florentine S. I was craving pancakes and the waitress randomly said they were doing them as a special that day so that was a W and they tasted good too!
Would say priced are definitely on the higher side but overall enjoyed this filling brunch. Would also recommend their hot chocolate, a perfect balance of chocolate and milk and it wasn’t too sweet as it was dark so went well with the sweet french toast :
Save this post and let me know if you decide to go for brunch at Aubaine!

Today is world suicide prevention day and this book ‘Eat with Beder’ uses cooking and baking together to raise awareness on mental health.
As a charity cookbook they incorporate stories and advice from well-known personalities and inspiration individuals to help anyone going through something and demonstrate how people can be bought together thought cooking, baking and eating.
Baking cakes and sharing them has always been something I’ve enjoyed doing and I’ve noticed it definitely does bring people together and create a community :)
There’s so much more that needs to be done to help people suffering from mental health issues and raising awareness is a start. Remember to reach out to family and friends or try to talk to someone - lives can be saved through one conversation.

I chose the oat muffin recipe shared by Millie Bright and really enjoyed them! They were sweet and didn’t have that healthy breakfast taste. Definitely more a dessert 🤤
If you’d like to try out the recipe it’s here;

📍 Cubana, Waterloo

➡️ What we ordered:

🔵Mixed Vegetarian Tapas Sharing Plate £12 🔵Tricolour Hummus Sharing Plate £10
🔵Camarones Criollos £16.50
🔵Mango Tango Jug £8

➡️ Taste 🥘🍹
Decent food, glad we went with the jug instead of two separate glasses of the smoothie. Think it was better value and we ended up having more than we thought. Loved the mango mix! Think we bought a bit too much tho when it came to the other food because we were fulll!! The sharing tapas was nice, loved the potato fritter style thing and the omelette but wasn’t too much of a fan of their cassava chips. They were quite hard to eat and dry but I feel cassava is usually like that? Tricolour hummus board was lovely. Really enjoyed trying the different sauces of avocado, black bean and red pepper with the veg. The seafood plate was delicious, would’ve liked more prawns but did enjoy the rice. There was too many peppers and not enough prawns but I guess prawns are expensive. Think the plantain was ok but not the best. Overall, taste wise was great to try and would probably try new items on their menu!

➡️ Setting🌄
I really liked their setting. Although the restaurant was quite dimly lit, it still seemed very colourful with the Latin American art around the walls. The Cuban flag was a decorative piece in most areas and the use of music made the place lively. They also sometimes have performances outside giving the restaurant quite a lively vibe throughout 💃

➡️ Service 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳
I thought the service was great! The woman serving us allowed us to move tables as we felt there wasn’t enough space and didn’t rush us out when it started getting busy. We were sat quickly, food was served efficiently and we didn’t wait long for anything. Definitely would recommend on service alone :)

Overall, I think the vibe of this place is lovely, it has Nando’s style music at points 🤣 and you won’t be disappointed with service. Food isn’t amazing but it still tastes good and would recommend!
