As we close out 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what this year has meant to us.

We started this rescue in March with one simple goal: to save one dog from the EU list - Ponyo❤️! That was it. Just one life.
There are only two of us—longtime dog lovers and shelter volunteers—who believed that even helping a handful of dogs this year would feel like a huge success.

Now, looking back, we’re honestly overwhelmed with gratitude.

In less than a year, we managed to save 16 dogs and help them find their forever families.
Many of these dogs were long-term shelter residents at MCAS, waiting over a year to be chosen. Many were pit bull mixes, a group that faces some of the toughest odds simply because there are so many of them and not enough adopters willing to look past the labels.

Each one of these dogs had a story. Each one deserved a chance. And each one now has a couch, a family, and a future.

This journey has reminded us that impact isn’t measured by how big you are—it’s measured by how many lives you change. Sixteen dogs may not sound like much to the world, but to us, it’s 16 miracles.

Thank you to everyone who supported us, adopted, donated, fostered, believed in these dogs, shared their stories, and opened their hearts. We’re ending this year full of hope, humility, and determination to keep going in 2026.

Because saving one life is always worth it—and together, we can save many more. ❤️🐶

Tobey said he doesn’t work for free 😝.
Jk, Tobey was great! He’s a ham. I don’t think there’s a person he doesn’t like. He loves rolling around in the yard and getting loved on. He is a bonafide mood booster!
Come out and meet this dude. He’s been waiting ONE YEAR!!

Everyday is different. Today was slow, but SO rewarding. It’d been 3 days since the boys had seen the sun. I was expecting a rambunctious pair ready to play. That wasn’t the case. The shelter is significantly overcrowded and the staff and volunteers do the best we can to care for the pups. It’s a huge adjustment for them no matter what their past is.
Show up.
Help them.
Be there for them.

Elliot and I had the best morning playing hookie from the shelter🤫. He is a higher energy dog so when I asked if he was ready, he was already jumping in the car! He is a well behaved passenger. We went for a little hike to burn off some energy. Followed by a stop at a coffee shop (in the A/C!).

He would thrive with and active family!

He’s very friendly and has not had any issues sharing his kennel. Although he doesn’t like his space when he eats. Please come out to meet this sweet boy.
He’s located at Montgomery County Animal Shleter in Conroe, TX.
