Something about the vibes of a university steeped in magic, secrets, shifters (and maybe dragons) screams fall to me, and I love it! Hazel and Gwen’s story is a riveting read from @authornadiatate, and @junedeborahae and @ashe.thegreat are phenomenal!

The Summoning of Mages is available now!
Huge thanks to Nadia Tate for the ALC ☺️

Super excited to start this one! It’s giving cozy, fall, mysterious fantasy vibes and I’m all about it. 🙌🏼

@authornadiatate is a new author duo to me, and @ashe.thegreat a new narrator to add to the Rolodex. @junedeborahae is nothing new 🤣 (kidding)

What are you reading this week?

"WHEELS & ROSES" just won "Best Animation" at the Great Film Festival this past weekend in Santa Ana 🥹

It's been a really tough and exciting year trying to get our project out there, and this past weekend, our project got its first win 🥹 I want to give a HUGE thank you to @thegreatfilmclub @thegreatfilmfestival for supporting our short film, and for choosing us as the winner of the animation category!!! Community support genuinely means so much, especially as a queer Black creative. Thank you🌈💗

ahh! my sweet girl, layla from @genshinimpact , i love her so freaking much! i had a fun time with the lighting this one, but it was still a struggle, haha! 😅 i still have a lot to learn, but i've really been enjoying these character portraits as a way to stretch my skills as an artist!

PLEASE support queer Black creatives this BHM but also EVERY!! DAY!! We're here creating things we want to see in the world but i know I cannot do it alone. Community has been so critical along this whole journey of making this project🥹

NGL views on our Wheels & Roses pilot has really slowed down, and I would love to keep getting eyes on it! If you care about Queer Black Magical girls, roller skating, and/or indie animation, please take a look at our animated pilot short!! It's on YouTube to watch for FREE!!!! I hope the pilot brings you a slice of joy in your day❤️

And that’s a wrap on THE MIRACULOUS V: THE BIZARRE AWAKENING OF A VIRGIN WITCH! Wow, what a mouthful 😮‍💨

Words cannot express the feelings that still rock me after Sunday. I just want to personally thank everyone (loved ones, peers, and more!) who came out to watch any or all of the performances. It’s insane how much love something that popped out of my head received, and I am genuinely grateful for all of the love this lil half hour rollercoaster received.

But this is not the end of V’s journey! Looking forward to bringing her tale to more festivals and fringes in the future. Until then, my witches 💜✨

Making animation takes a village and Wheels & Roses was no exception!!! What a roller coaster ride (in the best way) this journey has been so far. It's been amazingly challenging (I personally have learned sm), and so incredibly rewarding. Caring about a personal project this much almost feels scary, but having others along the journey who care just as much makes all the difference. From the production team to the voice actors, every. Single. Person. MATTERED.

Animation is made up of thousands (literal) decisions, and I feel so privelledged to be able to have made something from the heart with amazing people at Orange Blossom and NuBoom Studios.

Our full pilot short is available on YouTube NOW!!! PLEASE take a look if you're needing some joy in your day🥰🌹✨
