The Big Bad Matty G yeah!

His signature sound still rests as a corner stone for me.Think Cadillac Funk!

Loved working on his album and can tell / hear the early muscles flexing when listening back... You can tell something is a miss ... stirring. What an exciting time in the history of the electronic underground!

You'll be hard pressed to find vinyl of this release anywhere.
Slide 3 has a snip of Rasta Dem Nah Run
Slide 5 has West Coast Rocks(Caspa Remix) - Not on his album

Checkout 'Dub Police' on SoundCloud for Matty G output.

Dhruva of Sub Swara fame played me Qawwali by Pinch and in an instant I had an idea for a vocal.

I believe I reached out to Dave Q for Pinch’s email so I can ask to hop on it.

We connected Naturally, and built a relationship while he was in the throws of his debut album.

In covid times (we can say that now right!?) I produced a few lyrics videos for a few of my fav songs.

DJ Rashad changed lives. You can see his influence everywhere.

As we celebrate his birthday today, October 9th, we remember the talismanic impact he had on the footwork scene.

We named "Double Cup" the 9th best electronic record of the 21st century—but Rashad's legacy goes far beyond that. In 2024 we spoke to collaborators, protégés and family to find out what made him so special.

Week 2! All releases on my label in one post!

Breakgroud EP (2008) through to now - 12 releases on Bandcamp

The idea to start a label came from Sam Zaman pka State of Bengal (RIP). Simply had a lot of tunes floating around with no home.

Bandcamp is where I'd rather you go. Swipe then hit the link in the bio.

Not to worry, will chat 'bout releases on other labels in the upcoming weeks.
