Two Directs, One Empty Wallet

Unless you've been under a Goron or on a mission in deep space, the last two days have contained more Nintendo goodness than all year!

Firstly, we finally got gameplay for the Ocarina of Time Remake along with the rumoured Switch 2 edition and Pro Controller. I nabbed the controller but have heard the console sold out as fast as usual thanks to our scalper friends.

Then we had a full Nintendo Direct showcasing tons more 3rd party games coming to the Switch 2. There were also some more exciting announcements with a new 3D Kirby, some more tracks in Mario Kart World (for free) and the big one....Metroid Ravenous!

I'm hungry for this one, so much so that I've already preordered the CE that includes an exclusive steelbook and Amiibo! Honestly Nintendo are the only ones providing gamers with real games currently 😅

What were you most excited from these Directs? Has anyone pre-ordered anything yet? Did you nab a Zelda Switch??

A very overdue recap from the second live production we have worked on with NOT Influenced!

At the end of June, we were chosen to help produce a four-day livestream with Alan Walker and his team around the release of his new song, Fate, while Atlantis was being built out of sand.

It was a very cool project. It was also significantly more complicated than it probably looked from the outside.

The entire setup was outdoors, and almost everything had to be taken down and rebuilt every single day. From Tuesday until Friday, it was more or less a 24/7 production, with hosts, talent, technical requirements, changing timings, adapting to weather, and quite a few complications we had not anticipated before arriving.

Producing content for yourself is one thing. Producing a live experience for somebody else is completely different. But it is also something I think we are genuinely good at.

All of us at NOT come from content creation. We understand live content, how quickly things change, what hosts need in order to perform well, and how to solve problems behind the scenes without the audience necessarily noticing that anything went wrong.

I was also very grateful that Lynn Ersan came along to help me. We already worked on the Portugal production together earlier this year, which lasted an entire month. This one was much shorter, but somehow managed to be just as intense. We also recruited Charlie specifically for this production. His tech knowledge is honestly invaluable! Was a delight to work with you on this!

A huge thank you to Einar Martinsen Grannes, Martin Gustavsen, Alfred Sande and Khushi Malhotra from the Kreatell International team, Alan Walker and his team, and everyone else involved in making the production happen.

And of course, thank you to our talents and hosts PerriKaryal, Centane, and AverageJonas for showing up, and carrying the livestream across four very long days.

What I love most about these creator hangs, is being around just as crazy, delusional dreamers, who share the same love of making art. It’s important to be around your people. Seeing the friendships made out of these hangs is such a beautiful thing.
