February should be National “Support your local surf shop month!” Business is always a challenge but it’s especially tough in HB during the month of February 😅 I met Bud Llamas in 1998 when we started 5 Star Surf magazine. I was so stoked to be working alongside one of my favorite surfers of all time. Bud was/is a surfing legend known around the world and his respect lent us many appointments and future ads sold for years to come. he has since been honored with both surfers Hall of Fame and walk of fame recognition on Main Street We became great friends and we’ve found ways to do business together ever since. Most recently shop stickers and this window wrap. Bud opened 17th st. Boardshop back in 2010 and has been surviving the cold slow winters of Huntington Beach ever since. This is a great store to find a new or used surfboard or skateboard, accessories and the well known 17th brand tees hats and hoodies. Plus it’s the only place in HB you get to chat with a true surf legend while you shop. As you might expect, the shop also sells some incredible vintage collectibles. Thanks Bud for your business, support and most of all your friendship 👊 Go get a 17th St. tee, hoodie or a board and mention this post for a free bar of wax or 17th st.
