High growth at all costs is not a strategy. It’s a belief system.

On this episode of Revenue Rascals with Ashlee Sang, we talked about a business myth almost everyone accepts as true: If you want to scale, you have to say yes more.

Yes to every opportunity. Yes to every client. Yes to every partnership. Yes to every revenue stream.

But every yes drives a no.

When you say yes to misaligned clients, you say no to culture.
When you say yes to fast revenue, you say no to margin.
When you say yes to external validation, you say no to your values.

One belief I fundamentally disagree with? That growth requires compromise. It doesn’t. What it actually requires is clarity.

Clarity around what you believe about leadership.
Clarity around how you define high performance.
Clarity around the kind of revenue system you’re willing to build — and the kind you’re not.

Most founders don’t have a revenue problem. They have a belief problem.

They’ve inherited someone else’s definition of success and are trying to execute it harder.

If your business feels heavy, it’s usually not because you need more discipline. It’s because you’re building something misaligned with what you actually value.

Scaling doesn’t demand you abandon your principles. It demands you operationalize them.
