December 2, 2023 - Walking on faith with my head to the sky. 💫

1. Giving God all the glory.
2. My real time reaction seeing the 1st version of the shoe over zoom. I hated it. Lol The team was shocked at my lackluster reaction. Mind you… this whole design process was virtual. Had to rely on faith & the spirit of my creativity. One thing about me… when it comes to creative vision… I can’t fake my love. I only had 1 opportunity for a mock up & the mock up was not good. Lol I had to make quick decisions that would literally change my life (as a Libra -yikes!). My vision was cream, suede, & Spelman blue. The original shoe did not have the suede. NIKE production told me that if I chose to add suede it would be “sight unseen” bc of timing. As in, the shoe would go straight into mass production without a final mock up. I trusted my spirit bc God sees me. Huge thank you to the NIKE team for being so easy to work with & so patient w/ me lol 🫶🏾
3. Release Day meeting so many beautiful faces. Truly exhilarating. Special thank you to those who came out for the celebration. Thank you @athletesfootatl for hosting 🤞🏾 I grew up just 8mins away from this location & y’all know how I feel about full circle moments.
4. Spirit works in mysterious ways. This was my Church, Hillside, affirmation the morning I had my initial meeting with the NIKE team. This is why I move with ease the way I do. It’s not me. It’s the Divine energy moving through me & if I trust it.. magic happens. 💫
5. A collector’s investment Item. I’m so happy y’all love the design this much but dangggg $2,382 ?! Y’all wild. Lol
6. The Reason why I’m here. Literally. My success comes when I can give my family a better life than what they are giving me. A Spelman woman who manifested me to become a Spelmanite for continued legacy. 🩵

Returning home to speak @spelman_college for the 1st time was very special. The room was filled with engaging conversation, love, & power. Thank you to everyone that shared space with me. I feel so blessed that my sisterhood is solid. 🩵💙

This shoe is about full circle moments. Cherishing them because I never really knew what was to come until it arrived & it’s been the sweetest surprise.

The universe has chosen my journey to change the world one step at a time through the avenue of THE Nike #Yardrunners campaign. I feel like Andre 3000 in this moment where he mentioned he’s a catalyst in this life. Designing this shoe was purposeful with the full intention that with every step you are making the Choice to Change the World all while remaining Undaunted by the Fight. Spelman sisters, let’s go out in our grand lanes and create this ripple affect in this life. We are the essence of inspiration. 💫
