Today I’m officially launching the Tasty Film Co. YouTube Channel with my newest short film, THE NARRON FAMILY KILLINGS: A CAROLINA MURDER BALLAD. Shot entirely on black-and-white @kodak Tri-X 16mm film in rural Johnston County. The story is told through an original murder ballad performed by The Henry Family Band. Since I started this filmmaking caper, I’ve spent way too much time worrying about festival strategies, rushing to finish projects in time for submission deadlines, and scrounging up dough for entry fees. All so that maybe somebody, somewhere, might decide what I’m doing deserves an audience. Last week, I decided I’m done waiting for someone to give me one. Im going to build my own. I didn’t get into filmmaking to network or build relationships so I’d know who to send the right emails to. I do this to make art with my friends and, ultimately, to tell stories. I make these films because I want people to watch them. So Tasty Film is going online. I’ll be releasing narrative shorts, live music, music videos, and analog experiments through the channel very soon. So check out THE NARRON FAMILY KILLINGS, subscribe to the channel, and share it with somebody who might enjoy a little analog storytelling. Thanks for watching! (Link in bio) #kodakshootfilm #16mm
