It has taken a while to come to this fork in the road. I have missed my time in the military, the fun, the challenge, but most of all the camaraderie. The past 9 years away from it, the thought has always lingered in the back of my mind of re-asserting myself and taking the leap to re-enlist. Well, I took the leap, in January I will leave for Basic Combat Training at Fort Benning, GA. This was not a hasty decision, I have talked long and hard about continuing my service. While I love and enjoy what I have done between then and and now, this past year has opened my eyes and shown me that nothing is certain, and especially in the restaurant industry. Supporting myself and my new family has become increasingly difficult. While that is the smallest reason I am choosing this path, it no doubt has a significant place in the decision. I felt like this was the right decision for myself, for my wife, and for the future smaller me’s that I may create. The security, benefits, and support provided by any military branch is a welcome convenience. While the road ahead will 100% challenge me once again, I go into this with a much clearer head, more sound goals for myself, and the biggest support network I could ask for. Happy Anniversary to my fella. Over 6 years together. 1 year married. We've lived in 3 states, 9 apartments, and traveled thousands of miles together. We have the best beagle gal. Man alive, I sure am lucky.
