That’s a wrap on principal photography for REMNANT! We still have a few rolls of film left, so we’re going to put them to good use and capture some additional B roll later! 👌🏻 This production has truly been an astonishing experience. A lot of professionalism, improvisation, and teamwork made the heavy lifting of this story possible. It definitely wasn’t a walk in the park, but we knew the challenges we were taking on and were willing to take the risks to bring this story to life. A good majority of REMNANT was shot digitally, but to achieve the cinematic look and texture we envisioned for this period piece, we also incorporated 16mm film into the production. 📽️🎞️ We worked hard, stayed focused, and managed to have a blast along the way. Thank you to our incredible cast and crew for your professionalism, dedication, adaptability, and positive attitudes throughout this production. You are what made this possible. We are incredibly proud of what we accomplished together and cannot wait to share the fruits of our labor with the world in 2027! It wouldn’t let us tag him but thank you @thetrashpanda65 !

Stills from our first weekend of REMNANT! This weekend was filled with hard work, focus, and dedication from an incredible cast and crew, while still leaving plenty of room for some really good laughs along the way. We’re incredibly grateful to have such a professional group of people who continue to bring a positive mindset, great energy, and genuine passion to the production. Our first weekend was a success, and we couldn’t be happier with what we accomplished together. We’re excited to finish out our production phase next weekend and keep this momentum going! One weekend down. One more to go. Let’s finish strong. 💪🏻 We could only tag 20 people, but a huge thanks to @ghostinthefruitcake and @thetrashpanda65 !!

REMNANT Day 1 of 4! Rapid Unit’s first period piece and paid gig! We had such a smooth first day with our cast and crew! Everything came together according to plan, and we wrapped with time to spare before the rain came in. Nothing felt rushed. Everything felt at ease, while still being met with a lot of focus and intention. It was such a great start to this project, and we’re so excited to continue bringing this story to life with our wonderful team! 🎬

In sight of spooky szn approaching… here is a series of portraits I took of some classmates from last year for my Alternative Cameras class. As the scanner is processing/recording the image, the multi-lens allows the model to change poses. I wanted to experiment with masks for this assignment to show more of a dramatic change. Also, as a Huuuuuge Horror film fan, I wanted to replicate that eerie-ness with the different masks to create a morphing illusion. #scancam #blackandwhitephtography #portrait

We’ve officially had our table read for REMNANT! 🎬 We’re only two weeks away from shooting, and we couldn’t be more excited about this incredible cast. Watching these actors step into their characters, explore the material, collaborate, and bring so much personality, honesty, and laughter into the room made this part of the pre-production process so rewarding. A table read is such a special part of the journey. Hearing the characters come to life for the first time and discovering new moments together is something we always value. We’re beyond excited to shoot with these guys and watch them bring our story and these characters to life in just two weeks! Let’s make this movie. 🎥

Trying to recap the last 6 months in 20 fotos and I got to just the second half of it and not even caught everyone 😭 often I’m just focused on the moment and not on documenting it 😅 One thing that stood out to me is how grateful I am to have wonderful people in my life that I’ve been connected to for a long time OR are very new ✨ I’ve been going through lots of changes and they’re still rolling through, so this is literally just an itty bitty snippet of what I’ve been up to. And an itty bitty snippet of what’s to come. As a mental side note: it’s my second year having an entire month in the middle of the gregorian calendar dedicated to spirit, cultural strengthening, community connection and ceremony for both myself and my beautiful wonderful partner Razelle. So I really have to figure out how to balance that with the requirements of modern living within capitalism 😮‍💨 deadlines and all that. I am sooo sorry if I’ve blanked on getting back to you and please remind me to do so if possible! 😅 the western world has this all baked into holidays at the end of the year and we don’t have those privileges if we want to keep our cultures alive and participate in them 😭 Anyways, thank you to everyone who remains in my life ❤️ thank you to everyone who is “new”. Thank you for growing with me and I’m so excited to get to grow with you too. Con mucho cariño, Sacha Samay

It was an amazing experience to finally watch @ashleyinezz short film “The Light that Stays” on the big screen. When I first auditioned for her project, the script truly hit close to home for me. The character of Lily was so similar to what I experienced in raising my daughter as a single parent. And it was very cathartic and emotional to channel my own experience to this project. Ashley, thank you for trusting me with your script and for letting me dive into the heart of Lily. Congrats for all the awards you received! And to my costars @lil.dancer_nyasimoneeteeyan and @worldsshittiestindian, thank you for being so kind and fun to work with. I am only able to shine with you as scene partners. To our amazing DP @razellebenally , I learned so much from you and I can’t wait to work with you more soon! To the lovely crew who helped and supported me, Nya and Montana, you really are the rockstars who make it all happen! I didn’t expect to win any awards this night. But to be given the honor of “ Best Lead Performance by an Actor” was a special surprise. I love acting and only hope to keep working at the craft for as long as I can. ✨
