I had the privilege of walking onstage in a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo role for EUREKA DAY at @ccct_elcerrito for four performances! This was absolutely the best way to kick off the fall season - surrounded by children’s books, lots of apples, opinionated Berkeley parents (fictional), and an incredible cast and crew (real).

ICYMI: Winter is coming for your board seat.

Happy Closing to ‘Eureka Day’ at @ccct_elcerrito

Absolutely want to shout out this amazing cast & crew who worked to produce this fantastic production.

Cast: @kyekim_ @ashleyjayeaye @aliciarydman David Bogdonoff @theemariaceciliaflores @adventures_of_a_banana

Creative Team: Our director @filmguy78, our SM @anneyumiko @liiz.w #chicagojonesillustrator Michael Kelly @maggiemaeso Ashley Munday, Devon LaBelle, Kristin Smith (for everything including stepping in as SM the last weekend) AND the incomparable, amazing @chloewasil as our backstage extraordinaire!

Thanks to all for creating this thing, and allowing me to be a part of it. A big thanks to Enrico for trusting in me and convincing me to do this play. A huge thanks to the cast who gave me confidence every night on stage.

And of course thank you to Tom, who’s been so patient and supportive throughout the run. It had been a tough start to 2026, but I’m so glad to have gotten the chance to work on this funny, poignant, thoughtful, and important play with this great team.

Let me introduce y’all to the little beings who keep me grounded: my reptiles, dogs, and tarantulas. 🐶 🐍 🕷️

Each one has taught me something different. How to slow down. How to listen. How to care with intention.

For me, exotic pets aren’t just “cool animals.” They’re part of my mental health toolkit. They’re a source of calm, connection, and confidence in this chaotic world.

💬 Have you ever felt this way? Drop a comment below sharing the names of your animals.

My care routines aren’t just about the animal. It’s for my mental health. The quiet moments. The observation. The rhythm of routine. It’s grounding for me as someone with Autism and ADHD and a WHOLE other host of diagnoses.

My autism craves routine.
My ADHD craves novelty.

Caring for all of my exotic pets fulfills the needs of my body and brain. Also, it helps me build the confidence I need to navigate the world. I get to show up as my full self: neurodivergent, anxious, kind, and curious.

💬 If exotic pet care has ever felt calming or centering for you, let me know in the comments.
