I’m sitting here looking through pictures from when I first started producing, and man… twenty years. So many faces, memories, and stories behind these pictures.

Before Indie Fashion, there was Walk Fashion Show. Before it had a name, there was a vision. I didn’t have every answer. I just knew I had to start.

Miss USA walked our runway. People from Project Runway. Hundreds of models went on to get signed. Designers from across the country trusted us with their dreams.

And I remember us figuring it out together. Knowing we got to be part of somebody’s beginning… that gets me emotional.

With Walk, I felt like I was at the top of my game. Years of work were finally paying off.

Then I lost it all.
At least, that’s what it felt like.

There was frustration. Tears. Days I didn’t know what came next. But somewhere in that rubble… Indie Fashion was born.

I still had my vision, experience, creativity, and love for giving people a platform. God was still working on me.

Starting again took faith. Getting up with a heavy heart and doing the work anyway.

These twenty years taught me:

Everybody can’t go.

Sometimes I fed people who didn’t even want to see me eat. But the mission was bigger than that.

Do what you love. Learn the business. Keep showing up.

If God gave you the vision, He’ll give you the tools. You’ve got to work and move in faith.

To every model, designer, creative, team member, and supporter—thank you. These pictures remind me how many people helped build this.

Entering my next twenty years, my energy is different. I’m learning to attract instead of chase.

Just be chill. Work on YOU. Pour into your purpose, your craft, your spirit, and how you treat people.

It’s like chasing that pretty girl… sometimes you’re so focused on getting her attention that you forget to get yourself together. Find your peace. Build something you believe in. Let who you are speak.

Twenty years in, I’m still dream chasing. Just moving with more peace, more purpose, and a whole lot more faith. 🙏🏾
