“It’s important that you say yes.”

In 2013, God began whispering about leaving the Army.
Not all at once. Not with a full plan.

Each season required obedience before clarity.

And none of it happened because I was “ready.”

What’s harder for you, letting go or staying silent?

The other day, I was hit with an assumption that really offended me.

But I had to choose: carry the offense or make room for God to move?

I responded respectfully, let it go, and kept doing my work.

It would’ve been easy to carry that offense, replay the moment, and let it shift my atmosphere.

The very next day, I walked into a significant opportunity, one I didn’t ask for but was clearly prepared for.

Sometimes, the test isn’t in the accusation but in your response.

God is not intimidated by misunderstanding. He sees He knows, and He promotes.

That moment reminded me:

God can still elevate you even when others misunderstand you.

But offense? It’ll keep you stuck.

Don’t let what they said block what He’s doing.
Don’t let offense rob you of what God has already orchestrated.

I remember being told to slow down.
To stop trying to move ahead so quickly.
To “pay my dues” and wait my turn.

I was reminded—more than once—how long it took others to reach the level I was at.
As if ambition had a timeline.
As if confidence needed permission.

But here’s what I’ve learned:
Leadership doesn’t run on seniority.
It runs on clarity, capacity, and the courage to walk in your calling.

Yes, we honor experience.
But you don’t have to wait 10 more years to lead.
You don’t need a particular title to use your influence.
You don’t need permission to operate in purpose.

I’m a mom of a college freshman, and I’m not ashamed to admit…

We should’ve spent more time together. The days between visits feel so long, and the breaks are never long enough. I’m beyond grateful for FaceTime calls and those quick ‘just checking in’ text messages that keep us connected.

Sometimes, she doesn’t need my advice or solutions—she just needs me to listen. I’m learning that being present means more than giving answers.

Raising her in the ways of the Lord, standing firm against cultural and societal norms, and saying no when it would’ve been easier to say yes—it was all worth the tears.

I’m not ashamed because I see the fruit of those choices now. Watching her navigate this season of life with grace, strength, and faith reminds me that the sacrifices were never in vain.
