Belated post for #emptythetanks but never giving up this fight for every captive dolphin & whale to be wild & free, (or at least retired to sea sanctuaries).
There is no reason why any animal should be made to perform for ‘entertainment’ purposes. It’s prehistoric stuff that has no educational purpose whatsoever.
Cetaceans are highly intelligent, sentient animals that are not here for us to exploit and humiliate.
Please do not support the captivity industry, please don’t buy a ticket to a dolphin show or swim with dolphin programme & please go follow @dolphin_project & @emptythetanksworldwide for information on what you can do to help raise more awareness & educate others.

Sharks have long gripped our fascination and swum in the ocean before dinosaurs roamed the earth. However, such factors as climate change, ocean pollution, overfishing and fin poaching now leave some species of sharks facing extinction in parts of the world.

Why do we need to protect sharks?

Sharks play a crucial role in healthy ocean ecosystems because they are a top predator—they keep prey species populations at a healthy level and prevent algae overgrowth that advances the decline of coral reefs.
Sharks are beautiful creatures, with an unfair reputation for being vicious, that rule the clear blue waters.

SEA HORSE POWER 🐴
Social media has been real off for me lately. Not in terms of algorithms or anything of that nature but more so I’ve just had no desire to really be on it as much as I use to. It’s very conflicting to me as it’s a great place to spread awareness, business to grow, meet new friends and clients but I think it’s kind of lost its luster for me lately. I use to go on and admire beautiful works of art, learn a thing or two and actually enjoy it. Now I just see garbage most of the time and talentless half naked people blowing up instead of the people out there that work hard on art or their passions. I’m not too sure why I’m even bringing this up but this horse photo I edited last night just made me think about how free I’ve been feeling since I’ve been off social media more lately. Even when I was on it all the time I don’t think I really realized how much time I spent on social media until I started keeping track of the time. It’s literally like a drug. So sorry if I have not answered many of you back or I have not stayed in touch with some of you. Life has been non stop and I’m living my own life instead of living through others. I’m curious to know how or if any of you have felt this way? Answer in the comments 💙

As humans it’s easy for us to point fingers and put blame or shame towards something/someone without even giving a thought towards self-acknowledgement.

It’s easy to say Sharks are the monsters with their sharp teeth, stealthy movements and the reputation us humans have given them. It’s funny how people will still go out of their way to validate the persecution towards these cartilaginous fish while humans have depleted 70% of global shark populations!

Without them we cause a huge imbalance in the whole ocean, not just certain ecosystems. We would see exponential growth in certain and specific species of organisms which would diminish other species. In addition we would see certain populations of fish becoming sicker since sharks feed on the sick and weak.

Let’s do better, let’s educate ourselves and actually see what’s going on in the natural world. Every mind counts!
