$Rufus Concert!! SO much fun!! I almost didn’t go last night. These past couple weeks have been emotionally and physically tough. A couple days ago I broke. Right before moving Maya to college, she was going through heartbreak from a breakup. Avery fractured her wrist on day one of highschool volleyball (exactly one year ago she fractured her spine playing volleyball). Three days before dorm move in, Drew threw out his back and could hardly walk. I tried to take on as much as I could physically but I recently found that I have a torn hip labrum and other hip issues and need surgery. On Friday I got an emergency call from Maya saying she was headed to the hospital because the heavy closet drawer fell out and landed on her big toe smashing it. She has to have holes burned in her nail to release the pressure and all the blood. So, I drove up to Fort Collins to help her. Meanwhile Drew was on a plane coming home from a work trip and his plane got diverted to Oklahoma where he sat for hours which caused him to miss Ryder’s first football game of the season. Life was already overwhelming and all of these things piling up finally broke me. I’m not writing this for sympathy, I’m writing this to remind us that although our shared posts usually show the happy times, life can be heavy behind the screen. Anxiety and sadness almost kept me home but I decided to make myself go to the concert last night. It was the best decision ever. Being with some of my favorite people in my life, having quality time with my husband, and being surrounded by music and happy people was exactly what my soul needed. If you ever feel overwhelmed or sad, force yourself to do something that brings you happiness. 💕$
