Barbenheimer was so much fun with my gang. Both Barbie and Oppenheimer were really good in completely different ways. BARBIE: Barbie was definitely NOT my toy franchise growing up(that honor goes to Transformers). But biases aside, the Barbie movie was surprisingly really good. I knew it was going to be fun, but I got WAY more out of it than I thought I would. It is NOT a kids movie at all, everything about its themes, messages, and comedy are very mature. Barbie was a surprisingly well-fleshed out character who went through a lot of growth. I really appreciate how Margot Robbie emphasizes the stereotypical nature of Barbie, while at the same time, add a layer of depth to her character. Ryan Gosling was PERFECT as Ken, he is one of the most empathetic characters EVER. You may not like what he does in the movie, but us men can understand why he is the way he is. Not only that, he’s unbelievably funny. And of course… he is literally me. America Ferrera’s character was a standout in this movie for one reason… her monologue scene. It is one of the most honest and genuine monologues I have ever seen. In fact, it got a standing ovation from everyone in my theater. This movie is very pro-feminist and isn’t ashamed about that. Can it be a little annoying? Yes. But is it anti-men? No. As a dude, I was never bothered by its Feminist message, I actually think it’s quite empowering. I have seen worse cases of cringey forced feminism and in my opinion, this movie isn’t one of them. Overall, Barbie was an extremely funny movie that had a good message. 8/10 OPPENHEIMER: Oppenheimer was fantastic. Christopher Nolan hit another home run with this one - easily one of the best movies of the year. I only knew J. Robert Oppenheimer from his famous “Destroyer of Worlds” quote and this biopic really showed the complicated nature of his character. This movie is mostly just talking, but the way the script is written and how the movie is paced just keep your eyes glued to the screen. Also the movie is shot VERY WELL all thanks to Nolan and his use of the 70 mm IMAX camera. I have nothing else to say, really. Watch it for yourself. 9/10 That explosion scene was TENSE.

We did Barbenheimer cause that's the thing you do now apparently and it was a lot of fun, I would've dressed up but I don't have anything in pink and I made a promise to only wear suits to Venom movies
