I have learned so much about honoring time to rest. The space made to be with your breath and forgive a racing mind from taking the focus away. Winter has truly shown me what it means to confront. Sit with it. Squirm a bit in whatever needs that attention. For me, it was a lot of facing the truth about myself and how to honor experiences of massive change. I tried so hard to honor the change but I was not patient enough in the beginning. I wanted all the uncertainty to end and with my overly perfectionist brain I tried everything in my power to just get to the next level already. Finally, after surrender, after trust, I was approached with new doors that emerged from the fog of my own doing. Doors that were waiting for me after I showed myself I can be here in the now with the discomfort. In the time I felt weak and vulnerable, I somehow grew that strength to allow the mud to settle. I knew deeply from within that light was coming, or rather, was already here but just covered by clouds. It’s wild how we think we are stuck under clouds in a thick storm but we don’t recognize that the storm is moving no matter what. Each part of our lives that gets wet from the rain is a spot that we know will have growing buds of something magical soon enough. Still unsure how to remember how to point out that growth in the moment of the storm but all I can say is when you stop for a minute and remember it’s all part of the experience, it becomes lighter leaving more space for love in this journey.
