Honoured to be one of the nine organizations implementing Canada Fund for Local Initiatives projects for 2026-2027. 🇨🇦🇯🇲

This week, Cari-Trans Support Group Jamaica attended the CFLI Project Launch, shared its impact statement, and connected with the High Commissioner and the CFLI team. The project will provide trans masculine and gender-diverse Jamaicans with legal documentation support, access to education, employment, skills development, and gender-affirming support, and produce a documentary in community voices.

WE WHO LIVE HERE - Part 1 of 2.

This is the first half of the conversation.

Trans masculine, masculine-presenting, and gender-diverse people in the Caribbean, sitting together, speaking freely, and redefining what pleasure means beyond survival.

We may be different in many ways, but we share the same struggles, the same joys, and the same need to be seen.

This is just one piece of our ongoing documentary project. Soon, you will get to sit with us individually, one-on-one, deeper, more personal. But for now, this is community.

I tattooed one of my fellow trans brothers today.

He had me tattoo his given name at birth🫟

A lot of people in our community call it a “dead name.” And I get it. For many, it represents pain, hiding, and a version of themselves that wasn’t real.

But for some of us? We see it differently.

That name was the person who survived. That name walked through the confusion, the fear, the sleepless nights, and the hard years before we figured out who we truly are. That name carried us until we were ready to become authentically ourselves🏳️‍⚧️

So honoring that name? That shouldn’t be considered weakness or not trans enough. That’s a warrior’s tribute.

THIS. THIS RIGHT HERE. Is what I mean by meaningful tattoos.

WE WHO LIVE HERE: REDEFINING PLEASURE IN YHE CARIBBEAN- THE TRAILER.

We promised and now we deliver!

This project started with a question: What does pleasure mean to trans masculine, masculine-presenting, and gender-diverse people in the Caribbean, beyond survival?

Through the Pleasure Fellowship, I learned that pleasure is not just about sex, it is about body autonomy, safety, connection, and the freedom to exist without apology.

This trailer is a first look at our roundtable series, real conversations between real people. Some of us are trans men. Some are masculine-presenting lesbians. Some are non-binary or gender-diverse. We may be different in many ways, but we share a lot of the same struggles, the same joys, and the same desire to be seen.

We are stronger as a unit.

This is part one of a larger archive, the documentary is coming. But for now, this is what community sounds like when we stop performing and start speaking.
