these videos are really not easy to make 😂...Anyway, this is just a little bit of a part two to my video that I posted last week about squashing some of the rumors surrounding auditioning for a reality television, singing competition show! Also, I hope everybody watched the premiere last night of American Idol and if you didn't make sure to catch it now on Hulu :)

Honored to be an Artios Awards nominee with CSA! We didn’t win, but seeing my name on the big screen was a win in itself! Huge congratulations to Kristin Moss, Asjai Lou Casting, and Tony Miros for making this experience unforgettable. And a big shoutout to Queer Eye for the Straight Guy for taking home the win in our category! Grateful to be part of such an incredible industry.

But nah, for real… how hard is it to cast a real Jamaican actor?! 😅 Like, we exist. We’re out here, thriving, auditioning, making content, and seasoning our food… UNTIL I hear some tragic attempt at patois in a movie, and I feel a sudden urge to throw my remote at the TV screen. I mean, y’all had the budget to de-age actors, resurrect dead celebrities with AI, and give Vin Diesel 12 more Fast & Furious movies, but somehow, finding one real Jamaican actor in New York city was too much?? Make it make sense.

And I know my friends hate watching movies with me cuz I don’t even be paying attention to the plot. Five minutes in and I’m already in deep critique mode: “That’s not how a real chef holds a knife.” “Nobody would ever walk away from an explosion that casually.” “Why is this New York apartment the size of a Whole Foods?” Meanwhile, the actual story is unfolding, and I’m over here having a personal crisis about an extra in the background who’s blinking too much.

But I’m sorry, I just can’t. I refuse to suffer through another bootleg “Ya mon” while the whole cast just nods along like that was an authentic piece of dialogue. If I hear one more actor say “irie” like it’s CVS-brand seasoning, I’m storming the paramount studio and forcing them to cast me. 😂😂😂
