For CHTHONIC’s visuals, VJ Asking Gee drew on the band’s deep ties to Taiwan’s history and landscapes, weaving in cultural landmarks such as wude halls (butokuden).

In “The Imperial Army,” she also incorporated romanized Taiwanese in Latin letters, inviting the audience to connect more closely with the language and its culture.

For Flesh Juicer, she leaned into the band’s intensity and attitude, layering in Taiwan street scenes, temples, shop signs, and historic architecture, then fusing those traditional elements with 3D techniques to give the entire set an unmistakably Taiwanese edge.

Olemme matkalla Taiwanista Helsinkiin! F:F:F – Formosa : Finland : Fest. saapuu Tiivistämöön 27. marraskuuta ja tuo mukanaan voimallisen musiikin ja kulttuurin aallon.

Kyse ei ole vain musiikista. DJ Sonia Calico, ruokaluova Soac Liu, muotisuunnittelijat Jenn Lee ja Wei Kuo, taiteilija Blake sekä VJ Asking Gee (Chi Yun) muodostavat poikkitaiteellisen joukon, joka tuo Taiwanin luovan energian pohjolaan.

We’re heading from Taiwan to Helsinki! F:F:F – Formosa : Finland : Fest. lands at Tiivistämö on November 27, bringing a powerful wave of music and culture.

Leading the charge from Finland are heavy metal icons Lost Society, Korpiklaani, and violinist Olli Vänskä, facing off with three of Taiwan’s most electrifying metal bands: Chthonic, Flesh Juicer, and Crescent Lament. It’s a high-voltage exchange we’re calling metal diplomacy.

It’s more than just music. DJ Sonia Calico, culinary creator Soac Liu, fashion designers Jenn Lee and Wei Kuo, artist Blake, and VJ Asking Gee (Chi Yun) round out a cross-disciplinary crew bringing Taiwan’s creative energy to the North.

And yes, a-We, the mascot from We TAIWAN @ Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, is joining too—now in full rock gear. A limited-edition metal badge featuring a-We’s new look will be handed out to fans in Helsinki. A small collectible with big attitude.

Highlights of some IMAG looks I made with @notchvfx for @fleshjuicer concert

A year ago when we were brainstorming for this show, I was thinking about using Notch for the IMAG even though I didn’t really know how to use it at that point. And a year later we made it.

With notch, it can add so much more realtime effects, and dynamic to the show. Also the artist can engage with the crowd in more diverse ways. I really love how it turned out. I’m still new to it so I know there’s a lot more room to be experimented. Can’t wait to dig into it deeper and create more cool content 🦾

07 - Tiger King turns the shit up
08 - Wild lighting for “Daddy Daddy”
09 - Everyone was singing along with “Close the Sun”

Highlights of some crazy moments at the @fleshjuicer concert 🔥🔥

This “Flesh Temple” concept has been developed for many years, and this year we really brought it to the next level. From the OG traditional Taiwanese temple to a drown temple in the deep ocean. And after the mutation it has eventually transformed to a metal/chromatic/futuristic cyber look. All the variations of the temple create so much diversity, and I love all of them. Special thanks to the amazing 3D artist @jonni0409 for creating this temple since the last edition of this show last year!

more highlights to come… 🤭
