We’re back! Summer break’s nearly over, which only means one thing: Spa-Francorchamps 🇧🇪

I can’t wait to get back in the car, it’s always a privilege to race at such an iconic track.

The preparation off-track never stops though, with my SectorOne playing a key role ahead of every race weekend.

See you at Spa! 🏁

« Between tricks »

24h of Le Mans recap⏱️

Big thanks to @peugeotsportofficial and @rssimulation for having me last week 🙂‍↕️ Such a fantastic week supporting the RS Simulation team on the Hypercar and Polygon simulators for Peugeot Sport, while also getting to try the new Polygon concept car 👽

What a crazy week it was, starting by racing there myself in the @ligiereuropeanseries with @trajectus_motorsport kicking off the @fiawec_official race week 😎

Special thanks to @anthony_drevet for the invitation to commentate the 24 Hours of Le Mans on the FIA WEC+ livestream 🤯 A surreal opportunity to commentate one of the most iconic races in the world.

Le Mans, so close…

I knew going into this weekend that it would be a complete lottery. The entire race meeting took place on a single day, and before we even got on track there was the question of who would do qualifying. With only one qualifying session all weekend, it was decided by a coin toss… which I won 😂

Free Practice went really well. Both Nick and I settled into the car on the mythical circuit quickly, ending the session P4.

With Free Practice and Qualifying running back-to-back, there was no time to debrief. I headed into qualifying carrying the momentum from FP, but luck had other plans. A faulty alternator caused the engine to cut out throughout the entire session, leaving me unable to set a representative lap time and qualifying P9.

Starting the race, I got a great start and was up to P4 by the end of lap one. After a few position changes with the sister car, I handed over to Nick in P5 just behind the sister JSP4 following a lengthy Safety Car period.

Unfortunately, the race was decided in the pit lane. With every car required to stop on the same lap this time, we got stuck behind traffic during the driver change. While the sister car emerged in the lead, we lost around eight seconds and rejoined P6 🫠

From there, a series of unfortunate incidents left Nick carrying significant damage, but he did a great job to bring the car home in P7.

It’s frustrating to keep finding ourselves on the wrong side of luck this season, especially when the pace is there. But that’s motorsport. ⚙️

Keeping my head up, and my eyes forward. 👀

Massive thanks to the team for preparing a fantastic car once again, and performing a miracle to get the car ready to start the race after the engine issues in qualifying.

Next stop: Spa-Francorchamps in August👊
