It’s time for a soppy post.

I still am a Pisces.
But according to Insta Astrologers things are taking a turn for the better, less delulu more focused and in charge of my own life. Who would have thought I’ll grow up. Wait, let’s see if it actually happens first.

Fire horse year is definitely interesting feels like lesson after lesson, a very fast year…

Keep pushing myself to do things I can’t do or I’m scared of. And while the world still goes crazier and crazier and reading the news causes a headache every day I’m sooo forever grateful for all the people in my life sharing moments of craziness and love with me.

Sooooo grateful to see my child doing the coolest things in the coolest way. ♥️

The cool pics taken by @queergarden obvs ♥️

Even though I feel I need to write a more serious and informative intro to this week's Open Mic. I might. But usually I don't. We still love you @aspercasper and are grateful for you to be here! Can't wait! I should mention her Grammy nomination? No. Her Syrian-Palestinian heritage? No way! (impressive bio is unten anyway) What's the point of that kind of thing when all that is typically written here is nonsense no one even reads anymore. There is however, a message we are trying to spread and for you to receive. Found it? I know it is not WWII and there are no more people with Enigmas decoding encrypted messages from the enemy, let alone on social media trying to decode Open Mic announcements.......... ... .. . . .. ... .. .....
"Blimy, the Krauts are planning a raid tomorrow evening right after dinner!"
"Oh no, me wife was promising a lamb roast for tea wif mint sauce and all."
Mint sauce: Yikes. Love it or hate it. But nothing ruins a good lamb quicker. It's just not cricket, chaps!

For the musicians:
- Sign up/Anmeldung:
Sunday/Sonntag only possible 19:30 (be there before that time to unsure you can have spot).
Open Mic Starts 20:00 - 00:00
- You can perform 2 original compositions/cover songs/poems, within 10 minutes!
- We have an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar to borrow.
- We have a piano, miniature 72 keys .
- Yes we have a PA and cables etc.
For non musicians:
The Open Mic is Donation based 5-10€ per person!

BIO:
Hailing from Dubai, As Per Casper stands as an international indie fusion powerhouse, driven by a diverse musical palette. With a commitment to blending Western and Oriental elements.
Lead singer-songwriter Carla, a prominent figure of Syrian - Palestinian descent, not only shapes the band's unique sound but has also emerged as a recognized player in the vibrant UAE creative scene, earning recognition in a feature in Vogue Arabia's 4th anniversary edition issue.
The debut album, 'Hit The Ground,' soared to #1 on the iTunes Middle East charts in 2016.
More recently, the track 'H.M.U,' from the EP 'Flow,' was shortlisted for the 66th Grammy nomination under the category of Best Global Music Performance. #openmicberlin

PAN-GEA - Global South-South Festival
And Still, We Gather
02. bis 05. Juli
FREE ENTRY

We understand communities as infrastructures of knowledge.
‍
And we recognize that the urgency to organize ourselves, is also the urgency to create spaces where people can speak for themselves, circulate their own stories, and develop their own tools for reimagining the realities they inhabit.
‍
PAN-GEA festival brings together diverse voices—students, activists, artists, thinkers, educators, healers, community organizers, and beyond—and creates a space for South-South dialogues. Not as a response to dominant narratives, but as an affirmation of the knowledges, experiences, and practices that emerge from the realities of the planetary majority. In doing so, it foregrounds ways of thinking and organizing that not only challenge existing structures, but make other futures imaginable.

>As Per Casper is a Syrian-Palestinian female artist creating nostalgic fusion music inspired by 90s R&B, alternative and pop with touches of Arabic.
Raw and emotionally driven, their music explores unconventional love, loss and resilience, desire, solitude, and self-liberation, resurrecting timeless sounds in a way that feels deeply familiar to both older and newer generations alike.
@aspercasper @fedepaoles

What stories, memories, and traditions live on through sound?
OFFKEY invites three musicians into conversation on musical roots, cultural heritage, and how music travels across generations and communities.
After a shared meal, the evening continues with live performances.

>OFFKEY is an independent magazine and cultural platform for music journalism and conversations centering BIPOC and FLINTA perspectives. Rooted in Berlin’s music scene, OFFKEY supports local artists and emerging voices while creating space for those who resist industry definitions and believe in the transformative power of music. Through both its editorial work and the OFFKEY Sessions, the collective fosters exchange, solidarity, and face-to-face encounters between artists and audiences who share a commitment to collective liberation and community-based mobilization.
