HARAMBEE! 🗣️ another Kwanzaa celebrated and another year to reflect on. This year started off rocky and ended the same way, but through that I’m still standing with stories to tell and loved ones to share them with. You can’t control what happens you can only control how you react and maneuver through it. I love all the ups in life and appreciate the downs. Looking forward to more adventures on the 2026 roller coaster 🎢

{LONG POST} On Nov. 12 2024, I closed the Hall of Fame chapter of serving as a Resident Director at Morgan State. Actually taking the time to look back, all in my feelings lol...I find myself filled with so many emotions like gratitude, reflection, & deep appreciation. Those past 5 years have been nothing short of transformative. What began as a role to help shape students...guiding, mentoring, correcting and sometimes simply being present; ended up shaping me in ways I never imagined.

I've had the privilege of leading incredible student staff teams...each unique, passionate, and full of heart & attitude lol. I was awarded RD of the Year 3x & Staff of the Year 4x! The late-night talks, crisis calls, staff bonding outings, Covid, programs that flopped & the ones that soared, laughter in the halls & office, and those unexpected awkward moments of growth—these snapshots of life will always stay with me.

Each of you...my RAs, student leaders, & professional colleagues, poured into me as much as I poured into you. You challenged me to lead with more sternness yet compassion, listen with more patience, and show up with more authenticity. Ya'll know I preached INTEGRITY, so Lord willing you walked away with that at least haha.

This role taught me about resilience, grace, and the power of community. It was never just about residence life but it was about doing life together!

As I stepped into a new position within the university (more on that soon!!), I carry with me every lesson, every face, and every memory. Thank you for trusting me, growing with me, and letting me be a part of your story. It's dope to see many of you take off in your respective fields AFTER graduation & still stay connected...I'm soooo proud & it's nothing but LOVE!

P.S. I'll give a "follow back" after you walk across graduation stage lol

On May 17th, before walking across the stage to receive my Degree I was awarded the 2025 “President’s Second Mile” award!! 🏆

This achievement is given to selected students in recognition of their outstanding leadership and involvement in student affairs. It is intended to highlight members of the graduating class who made the most outstanding contribution to the campus community and inspired change during their undergraduate days. “Going the Second Mile,” means to do more in any given task or activity than can be reasonably expected.

The credit for this award does not go to myself alone, I dedicate this award to my team @msucreatives. This group of talented people hold a special place in my heart and every day I’m grateful I had the opportunity to lead and be apart of this team 🫂. I wish you all could have stood on that stage with me and be recognized for the pivotal impact we’ve made on Morgan State University. But truthfully, we never did it for recognition, but the love of or craft and those we inspire with our work— because we are the blueprint. 🅿️
