Chablis is one of those classic wine regions that the world just cannot seem to get enough of. Even at the entry-level, no one can refuse a glass of cold, crisp Chardonnay, with minerality and freshness in spades. And at the other end, the myriad single-vineyard Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines are celebrated as some of the finest, most characterful expressions of white Burgundy, finding homes in collectors' cellars and fine dining restaurants the world over.

Domaine Laroche has a history dating back to 1850, and after multiple generations of family ownership, has become one of the region’s largest and most respected producers. The domaine makes a huge swath of wines, representing many of the Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites across the hills of Chablis, all of which are vinified and aged to perfection in the estate’s legendary Obédiencerie, a monastery with cellars dating all the way back to the ninth century. Few other producers can boast the depth and breadth that Laroche does, and we’re pleased today to offer a limited selection of single-vineyard Premier Cru wines from the great 2020 vintage.

These wines don't make it here often, and all of these are available in limited quantities, so don't hesitate! This is an opportunity to put some serious Chablis in your cellar that can be enjoyed over the next decade or more. DM for more info! Photo credit @assavino

Maybe #2019 should be all about the classics!? When we all have gone tired of restlessly seeking #thenewnewthing - will we see a revival of classic wines and classic districts? #jerez and #sherry is always in my mind as one of the least appreciated wine regions and styles. Always not quite in fashion but always a very good glass of wine - a fabulous accompaniment to a range of foods and still delicious on it’s own. When I first came in touch with #fino #enrama (it must have been 7-8 years back) it was a new take on something that rarely was seen outside the region. Bottled unfiltered direct from the #solera it is the nearest thing to tasting sherry directly in the cellar there is. This one has been laying in my ”cellar” (aka wine fridge) for over a year waiting for the right moment and it was worth the wait - that is it was delicious (and they say en rama don’t keep?). Apples, almonds, flowers and that light salty freshness that is almost exclusive to sherry. I wish, as always, there were more! Thanks to @assavino - you made the weekend. #wine #palomino #faustinogonzalez #cruzvieja #62 #winelover
