It’s officially PSL season, and we’re ready for all the fall things. 🍂✨

Cozy sweaters. White pumpkins. Beautiful autumn tables. That favorite mug you only seem to reach for this time of year. And the serving piece that somehow becomes part of the same family tradition every fall.

So naturally, we started looking at some of our artists’ fall work and imagining where it could live.

A pattern on tabletop. An illustration on packaging. A motif on textiles, gift wrap, candles, pillows, or maybe the beginning of an entire seasonal collection.

Swipe through and play a little fall product matchmaker with us. Where would you put these? 🍁

One year of Tantau Studio. 🎉

I can hardly believe it’s been a year.

This studio is so much more than a name to me. It’s the artists, the ideas, the conversations, the creative partnerships, the leaps of faith, the learning, and all of the beautiful possibilities that have unfolded along the way.

And at the heart of it are our artists. Seeing the anniversary artwork they created for today makes me so happy. Each piece completely different, completely them, and together such a wonderful reflection of what Tantau Studio is all about.

To our artists, clients, collaborators, friends, and everyone who has encouraged us, worked with us, followed along, or cheered us on this first year: thank you. I’m so grateful you’re part of this.

One year in. So much more to come. 💙✨

xxo,
Margo

✨Tantau Studio is One!✨
A whole year has passed since Margo Tantau launched her illustration agency @tantaustudio and I feel very fortunate to be in her roster of artists. It’s a very well run and friendly agency - we have monthly zoom meetings with artists far and wide, an organised Slack interface for the agency members to communicate within, an impressive portfolio system for art directors to browse and some really great contacts in the address book to work with. So far I’ve worked on diverse projects from silk scarves and puzzles to book covers and a fabric collection, and even though it’s based in the US I’ve met Margo twice in the UK in the past year. Thank you and Happy Tantau Day, Margo @mtantau, Christina @chrssy3b Mandi @champagnefabulousllc and Deb for always being so great to work with 💙💙

Tantau Studio turns one this week! 🎉

As we head toward our first anniversary, we’re looking back at just a few of the ways our artists’ work has come to life over the past year.

Books, puzzles, scarves, packaging, stationery, home décor, gifts, and so much more.

Every project starts with an artist’s idea and becomes something people can read, wear, display, collect, give, or bring into everyday life. Seeing that transformation never gets old.

We’re incredibly proud of our artists and so grateful to the clients and creative partners who trusted us during our first year.

One year in, and we’re just getting started. ✨

Featured work by Kendra Binney, Zoë Ingram, Asta Barrington, Melissa Lakey, Tequitia Andrews, and more from the Tantau Studio roster.

A little Christmas in July from the studio. 🎄

Holiday artwork starts early around here, and we are loving this sneak peek of the 12 Days of Christmas collection from Asta Barrington.

Asta has such a wonderful way of taking an idea and building a whole little world around it. Each piece feels like something you want to pick up, turn over, and open — gingerbread kits, snow globes, candles, wreaths, winter creatures, and so many festive details tucked inside.

Beautiful, fun, and full of Asta’s imagination.

Artwork by Asta Barrington, represented by Tantau Studio.

Happy Tuesday from the studio, with a little editorial food illustration and lots of good things on the table. 🍋🍯🍣

We’re talking about editorial illustration this month, and food is one of our favorite subjects to explore. Recipes, rituals, ingredients, gatherings, how-tos, memories. Food gives artists so much to work with.

We love seeing how each Tantau Studio artist approaches it in their own way: playful, painterly, graphic, instructional, nostalgic, and beautifully detailed.

A food illustration roundup from
Asta Barrington, Fay Ford, Mara Penny, Nicole LaRue, Zoe Ingram, Jon Cannell, and Erica Root.
