Training glutes without deadlifts 😧!?

One of the more popular statements you’ll hear is that deadlifts are king for the glutes (and hip thrusts)

But as my kettlebell wizard friend @cliftonharski knows, that ain’t always the case

Take the Slideboard lateral lunge for example and notice a few things:

High hip angle: often times lateral lunges get butchered bc the quads and knee angle is so different than you see here

Tempo: sometimes with rdls and deadlifts the weight is so heavy you can’t go that many reps and tension and tempo suffer. This isn’t the case.

Unilateral: while split stance deads and single leg rdls are great this offers your adductors a different opportunity to be involved than them.

Crevices matter: using your hip in a single legged exercise such as this on deadlift days can also help round out your workout ( 🍑 pun intended)

Try this on a @perform_better slide board today!
