Small space, BIG impact. ✨ The Lake House primary bathroom may be tight on square footage, but it’s full of thoughtful design and luxe finishes.

We combined bold green tile from @annsacks (it’s an incredible collab with Studio McGee!), a stunning glass shower door from @astonbath, and fixtures and towel rack from @moen to bring the drama (and the durability). Add in that sleek mirror from @kohler and the perfect glow-up lighting from @maxim_lighting, and this bathroom became a showstopper.

Proof that it’s the details that take a space from builder-basic to custom-designed. Check out more on the blog!

Remodel updates at our Lake House! This labor of love has been so fun to work on together as a family. We’ve had big dreams to turn this mid century charmer in need of lots of love and attention into a dream vacation destination for our family and others!

Lots of progress is happening from the cabinets being installed to the bathrooms wrapping up, lighting in, floors, custom bunk beds, paint, hardware and so many details that have gone on and on to bring it all together! We are so grateful to have found the best products in the industry with our design selections from the beautiful @annsacks x @studiomcgee artistic tile in the bathrooms to the light wood @lucida_surfaces flooring to the @astonbath black grid shower door. We love the charm the @nostalgicwarehouse hardware gives to each cabinet door and the @maximlighting throughout makes each room at the lake house come to life. The @icon.bunks bunk beds we can’t get enough of from the quality to the design and more. We also love the pop of brass the @moeninc plumbing fixtures are bringing from space to space.

We are nearing the finish line and we can’t wait to bring you along the journey with the rest of the lake house so stay tuned for more!

Fresh new bathroom updates for the end of summer! Swipe to see the before photos. To maximize space, we installed three recessed wall cabinets, painted to match the new vanity, for all their hygiene necessities.

It's been awhile since I posted an update on house Reno stuff. Always more to add, tweak, dream about. Did have a contractor debacle, so did have to do more sweat equity than planned. Learned about drywall, mudding, finishing ...electrical and plumbing. Next I need to buy a miter saw so I can trim. I still need to trim the doorway, hang a door and finish the closets. The internet always makes this stuff look instant. It's not! Lots of energy, frustration, joy and savings...but worth feeling like I'm on vacation every time I shower.

Look at my bathrooms! 6 months of planning with my architect @katelaue and my contractor @cansecoconstruction have resulted in these two beautiful bathrooms. Check out the last photo to see the before! One single split bathroom turned into a master en suite and a guest bathroom.

Digging a little deeper into the design philosophy behind the #modernranch master bathroom renovation today! We wanted to create a clean and modern bathroom, but more importantly, incorporate lots of natural materials to create warmth. When going modern, sometimes it’s easy to end up with a space that’s a bit too sterile. Here are the ways in which we prioritized an organic look & feel:

⬅️ SWIPE LEFT

1) The @nativetrails 48” Palomar Vanity Top with Integrated Sink

When I first laid eyes on this countertop, I was sold! The integrated sink offers a seamless look that’s not just beautiful but practical, and the concrete material offers a natural stone appearance. This was a bit of a splurge, but so well worth it!

2) Bali Cloud Pebble Flooring from @houzz

Every time you step in for a shower, your feet are treated with a mini massage! Pebble flooring not only creates a natural look - they feel absolutely amazing under your feet!

3) @hansgrohe Croma Shower System

It goes without saying we opted for a ‘rain’ shower - gotta bring in all those natural elements!

4) @homedepot Corso Italia Alpe Graphite 12 x 24 Porcelain Tile

This was one of the first materials I picked out - I was immediately drawn to the raw stone-like appearance and subtle hints of sparkle. The matte surface is also ideal for wet areas to avoid slipperiness! To create as much of a seamless look as possible, I had the floor tiles continue up the shower threshold.

5) @ikea Succulent Arrangement

I always try to include greenery in every space that I design, especially bathrooms. Succulents are ideal as they require so little water - the humidity from taking a bath/shower is often plenty to keep them thriving!

6) @crateandbarrel Sedona Tote

Since we opted for a minimalist design with this bathroom, we had to come up with some creative storage options. These baskets were the perfect solution and also offered up an additional layer of texture!
