〈Get Twisted〉 Vocal Recording Behind the Scenes
The lead vocals were recorded in WUMUJI’s artist dressing room, while the backing vocals were recorded in the main live hall.
The recording chain consisted of an Aston Spirit microphone, a GAP Pre 73 Premier preamp, and an Audient iD22 audio interface.
The Aston Spirit offers three selectable polar patterns. For the backing vocals, I switched the microphone to omnidirectional mode to capture not only the voices but also the natural ambience and resonance of the entire WUMUJI hall.
The idea was to capture more than just the vocals to bring the air, the acoustics, and the character of the actual space into the recording.
That was an important part of the recording process for Get Twisted.

Recorded at WUMUJI. Raw, real, and alive.

10 anni insieme.
Grazie @astonmics 🙏

10 years together.
Since 2015 it’s been the first mic we reach for. Vocals, acoustics, rooms: over a thousand tracks.
It shows the miles, but the sound hasn’t changed.
Thanks Aston 🙏
