Autumn Project with the @seestar.official S30 Pro 🔭🌌

M31 - Andromeda Galaxy

I decided to make my first autumn project Andromeda, it's the perfect target to fill the frame of the S30 Pro.
I think I am going to continue amassing integration time on this for a bit but as follows so far 👇👇👇

Broadband - 746x30s
Narrowband (Ha) - 456x30s
Total integration time: 10hr1min (601 Mins)

Stacked and processed using WBPP in PixInsight

Not bad for a telescope the size of a ready meal box!

Falcons Flight 🔥🚀

A revisit to some of my photos from December, when got to see the INSANE sight of a SpaceX rocket launch.
The Falcon 9 generates around 1.7 million pounds thrust on launch. I was around two miles away and could feel the earth shaking beneath me.
Next stop is a starship launch. That will be unbelievable.

Eurofighter Eclipse 🌘

The Royal Air Force @raf_typhoondisplayteam put on an epic show over Blackpool last weekend, with the crescent moon giving a great backdrop to some of the captures!
First and probably only display I saw of Dragon01 and it was a banger!

Long Eaton's Once in a Generation Eclipse 🌘

On Wednesday evening the moon passed in front of the sun and gave us here at home in the East Midlands our biggest Solar Eclipse for a generation. At maximum obscuration we lost over 91% of the solar disc.
The world went a sepia tone, the heat faded, and everyone stood and looked as one people at the sky as one of the most unique events in the celestial calendar took place.

I timelapsed the entire event with my @seestar.official S30 Pro.

The transit lasted around 1hr50min but for you viewing here it is in 28 seconds!

A truly unforgettable day! 12/08/2026!

England's Biggest Generational Eclipse.

Some may not have been here for 1999. And some may not be here for the next major UK eclipse in 2090. This was in kind a once in a lifetime moment. For 1 hour and 50 minutes the moon skirted across the solar disc creating a simply mindblowing eclipse.
The sky darkened. The burning daytime heat vanished. People stopped what they were doing tonight and looked at the sky as one. Time and time again we are reminded by nature that we are a tiny outcrop in the vast openness of space. And nothing reminds us better than pure coincidence taking our lifeline - the sun, away from us.
And just like that it was all over. Not to be seen at over 90% for several decades more.

I'm in awe. I need more. Total Eclipse of my heart, that is FOR SURE. 🌘

🚀 Hey coders! Have you ever wondered, how do rockets actually work?

Every time a rocket launches, millions of people watch in amazement, but surprisingly only a few know why it lifts off or how it keeps moving through the vacuum of space.

Let’s break down the physics behind one of humanity’s greatest engineering achievements! 👇

· · · · ·

So a rocket generates thrust by ejecting mass at extremely high speeds. Thanks to Newton’s Third Law, the exhaust gases are pushed downward while the rocket experiences an equal force upward.

Here are the key ideas behind rocket flight:

🚀 Rocket Anatomy: Every rocket component has a specific role in getting a mission off the ground, be it payload or engines.

⚖️ Newton’s Third Law: Hot, high-pressure gases are expelled through the nozzle, producing the thrust that lifts the rocket (remember, equal but opposite reaction takes place!)

🛰️ Staging: Once a stage runs out of propellant, it’s discarded so the remaining rocket doesn’t have to carry unnecessary mass.

🌍 Reaching Orbit: Getting to space isn’t enough. A spacecraft must build enormous horizontal velocity to stay in orbit around Earth.

🎯 Mission Complete: Once the rocket reaches the required speed and trajectory, it deploys its payload—whether that’s satellites, astronauts, or space probes.

💡 Moreover…
* This post explains how spacecraft can travel through the vacuum of space.
* Shows why rockets look and fly the way they do.
* Demonstrates how physics turns chemical energy into motion.

🧠 Quiz answer! The correct answer is B). The picture shows a rocket nozzle. Did you get it right?

What do you think? The approach of this account will shift gradually towards more general engineering, so I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas for future aerospace posts! 🚀

Nights like these 🇺🇸🌌

This is what a night out on holiday means to me. Middle of nowhere, a sky full of stars, just me, the landscape and a universe full of stars to gaze at.
Fun fact, every star you see in the sky is only in the milky way. Other galaxies are far too distant to distinguish individual stars!

Double Trouble 🌌

The Eagle Nebula and Omega Nebula sit next door to each other in the sky, making for perfect wider angle shots capturing both at the same time!
Again, under the amazingly dark skies of the Mojave Desert, barely any exposure time was needed on these relatively bright targets!

Milky Way over Trona 🌌🔭

I spent a night out at the film scene that is the Trona Pinnacles. 8 miles from the main road in the southern region of Searles Lake. The sky was amazingly dark and I was the only human for possibly a 20 mile radius.
I’ve got more of these stunning images to come from other locations I found!

Shot with the Seestar S30 Pro on wide field mode. The perfect travel companion for a budding astrophotographer!

Film vs Digital: Rocket Launch edition. Me and my wife both photographed the Artemis 2 launch to the moon. I used a Sony A7CR and she used a vintage Nikon FM2 with Kodak Ultramax film. Which look do you prefer?

Starship V3 launch 🔥🔥🔥

400+ feet of steel, fire, and pure belief.

The craziest part isn’t that it launched…
It’s that somebody looked at Mars and said, “Yeah, let’s go.” @elonmusk

I took these photos of Artemis 2 launching from Kennedy space center! It has already been a week since the astronauts launched to the moon and they are already on their way back. The photos came out better than I could have imagined! Let me know which is your favorite
